I knew there was a manga but I have not read it. I'll try looking into it but if the fanservice is really bad just like the anime I'll probably skip out on it. I'll let you know if you haven't already looked at it by then. I can look past fanservice but if there's nothing else that's good enough to hold my attention I tend to not bother with it (which is why I gave up on reading kenichi).

Manga and animé of Senran Kagura simply don't work. The main audience for animé nowadays has such a terribly short attention span, they'd have dropped SK if the animé/manga was more character development-heavy (like Burst did). And most of the battles work very similarly, making it hard to bring variation to it.
That's why the fanservice is all that is left for those adaptions, and that, in turn, is the reason both the manga and the animé are terrible.

Oh my god, that Murasame gameplay is ridiculous! But it's nice to see how they incorporated the fact that he's actually not that good as a fighter.
Now I'm gonna wait for some better clothes ripping showcase... I'm really curious how they'll design that stuff to be appreciable by girls...

Okay, found the time to watch the above video, and while I'm impressed at how fluid the game runs compared to BURST, Crimson is still worrying me. The combat seems to be somewhat more chaotic, with the apparent absence of proper targeting abilities, instant aerial raves, and extremely fast-paced action.
It also seems like the person who played this is either not very good, or the other characters, but especially Yomi, are broken beyond recognition. He tried the Ikaruga section so many times, and even the Ninpo attacks barely dealt any damage at all, while Yomi pretty much had insta-kill combos all over the place! And the same seemed to happen during the 2on2 match - Hikage gave in at some point, but Yomi just annihilated both Haruka and Mirai... this is kinda scary, to be honest.

But the fight against Orochi was really cool! Fast, intimidating, and really damn cool - although I don't understand whether it's a callback to BURST or a rematch, since Haruka already exchanged her coat for the robot.

You can see the intro, different character intro scenes and combination ninja arts, @11:29 you can see that Murasame can pair up with characters (or at least Ikaruga), more weird AR functionality (something funny @20:00).

@mamp Nice! Every new gameplay video interests me!

The tag teams seem to have some kind of relationship system, though I have no clue how or if it affects gameplay. But I like how every team has different introductions! The team ninpo are pretty cool as well (and Murasame/Ikaruga team was just hilarious!), but the Yagyû/Hibari team ninpo has Yagyû performing the exact same move as with Mirai, hinting at a limited variety of attack combinations.
The customization menu shows off a lot of of different facial expressions and poses as well as the possibility of having two characters in the dressing room at once (most likely to make photos and AR impressions). I like the sheer amount of options - playing around with that should produce some really funny (and sexy) results. Though some of the stuff shown is just pointless...

@Kaze_Memaryu There's still some differences though, like with Mirai you can see that Yagyu just lets her fall on the floor and Mirai gets pissed off and with Hibari Yagyu catches her and kawaii moments ensue.

I'm having high hopes for the story. The one in Burst, while being comparably short, contained a lot of very detailed characterization, which made the girls stand out more as troubled fighters who question their ways at times.
So far, Crimson appears to focus more on the new characters, Kagura and Naraku, but still seems to employ a very good sense of novel-style narration (by Yukinori Kitajima, who previously worked on 999). That's what many non-biased critics praised about Burst, so it would be rather nonsensical to cut down one of the best aspects.

Info from video (there's more in the video though):
Stages are now in 3D instead of 2D. Bosses are hard and have improved AI. Online multiplayer.
Status effects like burn and poison. You can turn off clothes destruction animation
Affinity system, the higher it is the stronger the team, can revive fallen ally less HP w/ each revival.
Yagyu is more of a melee character now and Hibari has been improved.
Shinobi transformations heal character completely now so it's best to use it wisely.
Certain characters have Stance changes that either change the way you play or they power you up:
Katsuragi- Metal boots open up and wind is released around them allowing her to fly and powering her up.
Yagyu- surrounded by blades that will attack enemies that are close or you can throw them.
Hibari- Charges up and gets surrounded with electricity.
Hikage-Bloodlust that powers her up and makes her eyes glow red.
Mirai- Can change primary weapon between umbrella, minigun and grenade launcher.

This game looks amazing. Smooth animations, faster action, a more stable framerate, deeper combat, 3D graphics. This is MILES better than the original. I can't wait for this to release overseas!
