Hey everyone. :D

So I think I might sell my 3DS. Not because I don't use it, I use it and love it. I might actually be sad to see it go...

The reason I'd sell it would be to buy a 3DS XL. :)
I could probably get about $125 for it, so would it be worth it to pay $75 to get a 3DS XL?
and if so, what color should I get?

Well, the only bonus for an XL is the bigger screens, and you'd have to do a system transfer unless you sold your 3DS already in which case you'd lose your eShop games. Personally I wouldn't pay $75 for bigger screens, but if you are farsighted or something bigger screens would be nice.

Well, the battery life is also a plus. And I wouldn't sell it (or at least not ship it out) until I transfered everything to the XL.

trust me it is worth the money to get the XL.....I was originally not going to get one myself because I didn't see the point in just getting it for the bigger screens but boy am I glad I did. I don't regret getting my XL.....the blue one is really nice and you can get a blue one with Mario Kart 7 preinstalled for the same price as just a regular XL, but only get it if you don't have mario kart 7 and actually like Mario Kart 7.

looking forward to Mario Golf 3D, Mario & Luigi Dream Team, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, Project X Zone and Pokemon X & Y.

As a former regular 3DS owner, I was happy with the XL upgrade. Aside from the better anti-glare and non-scratching screens, the 3DS XL has a better build quality and has one of the best Nintendo handheld buttons since the GBA SP. The only downside I see for it is the sound which is noticeably softer than the regular 3DS, but that isn't a problem since I use headphones. Do you want to drop extra cash just for the convenience and a better built console with a larger screen? Supersize your option I say. And similar to what @mumof2kids82 said, get the Blue MK7 bundle, the unit has a nice shade of blue that looks good in person. It's the best XL unit available, but I'm certain better colors will drop by in the future Hint hint

I know, I wish that were real also.

I already own Mario Kart 7, so maybe if I get the MK7 bundle I can sell my physical copy of it to help pay for the XL... But won't the preinstalled copy of MK7 get deleted if I transfer my 3DS data over to the XL?

Thanks for all of your help guys. :D

I can confirm to you that once you've done a system transfer, and moved your old SD card to the XL, you will be able to redownload MK7 from the eshop.

My XL should be arriving in the mail today, can't wait! I'll admit though.....I've been through some high's and lows with my current 3DS. It's saving grace is the stereoscopic 3D and virtual console, otherwise as of now(which isn't fair to begin with considering it's not even at the mid point of it's life span) is full of 3D games, and hardly any sidescrollers. Super Mario 3D land while 'good' is overrated...having to dip down to 30fps for the frame rate in comparison to galaxy 1 & 2's 60fps was a noticable and nasty downgrade, and the graphics themselves weren't on par which goes against this so called '3ds being more powerful than the Wii". Blame it on the stereocopic 3D folks, since i basically drains alot of the 3DS's power.

Aside from that SM3D Land was an uncreative, bland and uninspired experience that relied on borrowing too many elements from previous outings(SMB3 especially) but it was still pretty fun, the bowser fights were amazing, the stage design was ace and it boasted some of the best controls ever seen in a 3D mario. While RE: Revelations was a mixed bag of awesome and mediocre(Mindless shoot out episodes, terrible convoluted plot, unfitting characters, uninteresting villians, fighting against ooz's wasn't all that fun due to their limmited bullet reactions ect ect).

Still, i haven't tapped into the 3DS's full potential in terms of it's grade A 'retail' gaming line up. I've finished about 8 retail titles, close to 20 VC games and about 15 3DSWare(most of which were dissapointing)...I need to tackle Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7, Zelda OOT, Paper Mario Sticker Star and NSMB.2...Which are basically some of thee' most amazing games on the 3DS. Need to shut my mouth and play them all ready. :p As is, PilotWings resort suprisngly was the greatest reatail experience i had on the 3ds thus far.

I'm sure it is. B-) I've been holding out on my copies of KI: Uprising and Mario Kart 7 because i want to get a more grandos' experience(Uprising especially)
on the XL's larger screens. Once it arrives in the mail today you better believe i'm going to shred that puppy open with my razor sharp mullet.lol

But first i'm going to head to Drac's castle and tackle Castlevania: The Adventure(Followed by Metroid II: Return of Samus) on the 3DS's VC. it's going to be utter blissy' playing these VC games in 1:1 GameBoy mode on the larger screens! It's basically one of the main reasons why i made the upgrade.
No more puny Wrist watched sized' 1:1 mode on the regular 3DS for me. I'm still keeping my two Aqua Blue 3DS's since i don't like selling my videogames or consoles, plus They're just too bloody gorgeous for me to let go. :D I doubt the Blue XL will beable to top it's beauty hehe.

On the XL the GameBoy border should be roughly the actual size of a GameBoy, shouldn't it?

@Nintenzo
It should pretty close. The default expanded resolution/size for Gameboy/GBC games on the regular 3DS was actually a bit larger than the actual gameboy and Gameboy color screen. I hope the XL's screens will retain that super crisp/sharp image in 1:1 mode just as the 3DS did. eek!

Sell your 3DS? No! For a 3DS XL? Yes! :)
(Go for it.)

Classic Sonic will always be the number 1 Sonic! I think Modern Sonic's great but will never beat my original Classic Sonic.

1) I also sold my 3DS to get the 3DS XL and for me it was worth it- especially for the bigger screen and because I could hold it better in my hands. So I'd say go for it.
2) SML3D was, for me, pretty good- it was NSMB2 that disappointed me more and I think that Paper Mario could have been MUCH better. However, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts 3D and Resident Evil Revelations were enough to make up for it. In general, 3DS has a pretty good library of games, with more coming in the following months.
3) I also own a PS Vita and even though I play with my 3DS XL a little bit more, I think that the Vita has more untapped potential. Maybe Sony will be stupid and not support it enough- if they do, however, I believe that it will become a serious competitor against the 3DS.
