Topic: Save Data question

I was shocked when i found out that the save data isn't saved on your 3DS, but it's saved on the game card. I could understand from the previous DS it was saved on the card, but with the option of the internal storage and SD card with the 3DS, why doesn't the save data save on the system instead of the game card?

I prefer it that way. That way you can pop it into any 3DS and still have your data instead of doing a transfer or something. Plus it doesn't take precious memory.

the size of the memory wouldn't be much at all. kilobtyes size like 1-4kb

It's probably to deter people from using game rental services like GameFly. Theoretically, game saves wouldn't take up that much space, but by keeping the data on the card, it gives people a reason to buy a copy of a game to play through it as opposed to renting a copy perhaps multiple times and playing through it. Nintendo makes more money, and we don't really complain about it, so they don't bother doing something else.

Exactly.
