Is anyone else looking forward to this? One of those games that would become that much more cinematic with the 3D, even if it doesn't change the basic gameplay any.
I might get it for the novelty in a year or so after its release if nothing else like it comes out, assuming they find a way to make it portable friendly. If they do, it might actually be fun in short bursts.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

The Warriors games on PSP are good fun, but Nintendo consoles have, until the 3DS, not really been powerful enough for an engaging Warriors experience.
Plus, for 3D action games, a d-pad sucks. Yay for the 3DS!

Yay indeed. Here's hoping nothing screws up along the way.

I do agree that the 3D alone would add enough spectacle to make it interesting, even if they didn't change the gameplay at all. I would still prefer it if they at least tweaked it to be portable friendly of course, but I don't think I'm really asking for anything radical in that regard.

Apparently there's been some tweaks - for instance you now control multiple heroes on each battlefield, and you switch between them via touch screen on the fly. Useful for tackling multiple objectives simultaneously - and I would expect the higher difficultly levels to be insanely chaotic as a result.
Other than that I'm expecting the game to be a similar experience to the PSP games... which is a-OK for me.

What I love about this is the scenery and backgrounds of Samurai Warriors has always been its weakest point, visually. The character models should be insane.
i really hope they gona enhance it a bit tho, on graphical level. Or els they simple should introduce a FOD kind of solution. I beleave resident evil is using this with that merc game aswel. If they come polygons short.
the high graphical characters are atm nothing more then cheap ps2 models it seems like

From what I've seen, the characters (in static shots, lets not forget the 3DS looks best in motion), are a slight cut above the PSP Warriors game's models. Which is fine. Things look decent enough on PSP - remembering that the Warriors games typically have 30, 40, 50 people running around at once, and never drop frame rate.
What'll be impressive with this game is that it's very action heavy - and in 3D that amount of action is going to be very entertaining to watch.
As for the scenery - well, if you have enough time to stop and admire the scenery in a Warriors game, you're not doing it right.
Well that explains the minor graphical upgrade from the psp > ps2 models
I already wondered why the graphics where tuned down like that. Because i simple didn't thought that more then 10 enemy's would popup at once. But it at some screenshot i already see like 14 people at once on a tiny spot. So if you say 50. Thats gona give a huge performance drop. No wonder they tuned it a bit down .
It still looks amazing then lol.
Lets not forget it needs to run in the 3D ( which is a extra performance hit, even while it isn't alot and all those aoe effects + maintaining a steady fps.
