Uh oh.. Let's not turn this into a "Chocobo Showdown" now...
@Waltz True, limits aren't ideal and itms better to not have it so more developers are encouraged. Yet, I don't think downloading 1GB games is really all that good. Takes lots of space and it takes time to download them. Least Nintendo is incorporating "Sleep mode" downloads.
But just as this 25% power is a rumor, 512MB is so too- although the latter sounds like it could be legit.
I'd love to have retail DS games on eShop at least.
KomicZ, if that home menu takes a full core, or even 25% of one core, it is still a total waste. The menus are, by concept, event driven, they should do nothing unless you iteract with them, and they should do even less when not present (a game running, for example).
One core runs the menu so while your in a game it can check for Notifications, updates, spotpass, streetpasses etc and you can if you want to come out of the game, check notifications, go on internet, check friends list, read the manual for game and make notes before jumping back into the game where you were... sounds about right for using one of the cores for the OS. Vita does the same too, does that seem laughable as well?

WaveBoy, do you know how many multiplatform games were not present for the Wii just because of its lack of power? Of course you can always come and say that none of them would provide any fun for you and that Nintendo is wrong trying to design something 8 times more powerful than the Wii and adding a "U" to it.
Quite laughable in both cases, but even more if you only have only two cores (3DS) instead of four (Vita)
Geez, i didn't know that having the most power equals the most fun.
More power = More possibilities, as we've explained to you 100 times. Do you honestly think they could've done Skyward Sword on the NES or Skyrim on the Commadore 64? Even the little bit of extra power the 3DS could be getting could allow a developer to produce the full extent of its creative vision.

Heh heh. This is a bit unrelated, but it always seemed to me that the handheld world is a "split-personality" kinda world. There were almost no games made as a multi-platform; each had their own games. I wonder if the next handhelds will stay with this trend.

Geez, i didn't know that having the most power equals the most fun. Wait a sec, you do play games to have fun and not just to stare at a pretty picture right? Don't tell me you'd pass up Mega Man 9 because it's not rocking Realistic HD Next gen graphics. You sound like nothing in the video game universe is powerful enough to cater to your needs mandy.
You and I should work on the new Commodre 64 Successor muhahaha
Wut?

Well, its really nice to read, but Im not interested anymore in plans or "is about to" or any others rumors: Just DO something Nintendo! You console already feels old in my hands...delays, plans, rumors. Well, actually nothing I could use on my 3DS.

I think more power to the developers encourages better sensational games MORE than funner games, which is also a good thing. But hey, that's just me
Rephrase! More horsepower guarantees more sensational games but doesn't do too much to contribute to the fun factor; the fun factor is more tied to the game designer's discretion and his/her relationship with the producer. But once again...that's just me.
PS: the sensation and fun are both crucial to achieve an exceptional experience for a player.
