Its dragon quest. The director over the Final Fantasy remakes want's to do 5 and 6 after Bravley default.

I too see it being DQ7 since they are already at 6 on DS 7 and 8 should be next for 3DS. I hope that we do however see FF5-9 on 3DS so something

Its more likely to be DQVII as the last DQ remake was DQVI and the last FF remake was FFIV, I won't buy it if I'm right about that as I hate dragon quest.

Anyway, I'm probably in the minority here, but I would much rather have a DQVII remake over a FFVII one. IMO DQ > FF any day.

Unfortunately, your "Dancing Mad" game suggestion had to be turned down, for the global sanity of minors.

I'd like it to be FF VII, because it has not aged well and is in desperate need of a remake. Also, I want to see the riots that will happen if it only ends up on 3DS and not on a Sony system.
However, it's probably DQ.

I hope it's DQVII. A FFVII remake can stay in obscurity until a proper FFVI remake is made.

I'd be down for either. FF7 seems more likely, honestly, especially after the III and IV remakes for the DS.

But 5 and 6 haven't been remade where the Dragonquest remakes ended at 6.

V and VI were remade on GBA. And IV too... On GBA.

I seeing as IV was you can't count those remakes. The Director of those games even said he wants to do those remakes on 3DS. My guess is those games are being built from the ground up to take advantage of the 3DS hardware. I expect Bravley default to be the last game using the FFIII DS engine

No way it's FF7! That will probably get a remake for Vita (I can dream, right?). Yeah, I agree that it's DQ7, which would be awesome as its the only DQ I haven't played yet due to it's rarity and therefore, cost. Also, DQ7 could use an overhaul, as I have seen the screenshots and the visuals are, well, awful.

True, but 7 was way more popular and would be easier to remake in 3D since it was 3D to begin with. And anyway, they skipped remaking 1 & 2 on the DS, didn't they? Why wouldn't they skip two more? I think it's safe to say Squeenix is more interested in making money than doing things chronologically. :3

That being said, they've been releasing DQ games like crazy on Nintendo systems lately, so there's a pretty good chance they'd do DQ7 too.

At this point if seven was getting a remake we would be getting one on the Vita using assets from crisis core.

I've never played FF7, but it seems unlikely because FF7 has always seemed like it's never leaving PlayStation. I'd love it to come to 3DS though. It also seems Square Enix really loves putting DQ on Nintendo systems lately, so I'm guessing it will be the one coming. It's a shame though, I tried out DQ IX and really couldn't get into it, but I'd do anything for a TRUE (no Thearythm) FF on 3DS.

Okay hold on a mo. If the rumor is accurate:

"It’s a remix version of the 7th game of a famous (J)RPG series, and will sell half year later of a spin-off game of the series."

...then this would suggest FF7 will be coming out half a year after Theatrhythm releases, right? Also, seven months after February (Theatrhythm's release month) is September, which is when Nintendo does their press conference before TGS. Cue "dropping a megaton."

@shingi_70: Wouldn't lifted PSP graphics fit better on a 3DS than a Vita? :3 And don't forget that Monster Hunter was on Sony for forever, but all of the sudden we've got two MH games coming for the 3DS, with not a one in sight for Vita. Square could do the same thing.
