I can't decide if I should get this or Asphalt 3D. I imagine Ridge Racer 3D will be more.....I can't really think of the words to describe it. Not more fun or more content, but just that the content that is there will likely be made better. I'm leaning towards Asphalt for it's gameplay, since they both seem to lack online, but take advantage of StreetPass.

Hopefully Asphalt 3D will be as fully featured as Asphalt 4 for DSiWare.

I am enjoying it thoroughly. I never played Ridge racer before so this is all new to me. While I like racers, I am not terribly good at them but Ridge Racer should definitely help me hone my skills.

Yep I love it. Almost unlocked Advanced Mode as Ive tried to win every race until now and take part in each grand prix which was a piece of cake. It will get harder however. There seems plenty of content aswell

@RetroGo
I recommend it 10000 times over pilot wings , really pilotwings will get you hooked maybe for 2 days.
so just depends if you are casual go pilot wings , if your a gamer go ridge racer
Ridge Racer in comparrison will get you hooked for weeks to come ...

so far i am at the 13th grandprix in the first thrid of the game. favorite car right now is RC410 type Z 294km/h.
have you done the streetpass duells that have been preinstalled? it is time attack afgainst a cpu opponent. really cool. hope i will meet some people with streetpass. cant wait to beat their times.

the 3D really comes to shine with the leafes, konfetti flying to your window. but the water is the best. sadly it is only on one track. or are there others with this watereffect? i really like that one

hi ch6ris

yeah the RC410 is strong and looks nice

hum but the Eo from himmel is very interesting but i dont have enough money to afford it
huh cars getting expensive with 40.000 or 60.000 ...
oh btw those nitro kits are confusing , which one are you using ?
even the normal B kit seems best for me atm , the one where drift fills nitro faster

cheers

i wanted to try out the flexible nitro but it costs money for each car. so i diceded to go with standart. normal B sounds good to. not easy to get an ultimate loading in the beginning.
the thing that bothers me about normal b is that i have trouble getting the corners right when using nitro and i will have to much nitro when i would use normal b. at least thats what i think would happen.

i beat the second streetpass duell against the AI. AI had the EO car. it looks like a porsche^^

what grand prix are you at?

Stereoman

well im still stuck in beginner grad prix , so its the 15. or such
damn the beginner takes to long i want expert omg !!!
oh and if you got too many nitro going , use the 4 socket nitro kit , its cool on smooth drift cars

cheers

I happily have just completed beginner mode. Now Im at advanced BRING IT ON !

I've got every gold medal for both Beginner and Advanced modes, and I'm currently working my way though Expert mode now. I always find Ridge Racer games to be fairly easy and this is no exception. It feels to me like the car gets pulled into some tracks as you drift around a corner, I'm not complaining though, it makes the game seem a lot more fun to me.

I find flex nitrous to be the best one by a long shot, it fills up rather quickly and it's great being able to use nitrous any time you feel like using it. What I usually do is hold the nitrous button in for a while as I'm coming up to a corner, then leave go for drifting around the corner and it will fill half of the whole bar up with ultimate charge. Then as soon as I'm around the corner, boost until just before the next corner and rinse and repeat.

My progress is at 81% with 9 hours of playing time (taken from Ridge Racer menu, my 3DS activity log is saying 15 hours of playing time, how bizarre), so not long until I've completed all of the events.
I will however be coming back to it once I've picked up some StreetPass data for time trials and of course I will keep coming back to see the stunning sunsets and city lights in gorgeous 3D!

hi BAZ,
i see a new RR fan here
well im at advanced mode now too as andy ^^ ( progress at 42% )

yes advanced is bit tad easy as well , but gosh the streetpass Duel03 is damn hard ! I tryed it with the same car e.g. the Evolver EX and with nitro kit B for better drifts ...
huh lost it with 10 seconds behind the enemy , sounds a few but its like 1/4 of the track lol , scary ...

Btw most fun until now was the huge car HJ6000 even type S is enough and then four nitro kits.
It charges nitro like crazy, feels like you can nitro for eternity , i guess its because of drift type dynamic hum and his weight ...
Oh and the view from cockpit is cool because you are on higher position , its like a heavy racing pickup hehe.

cheers

My 3DS shipped today so I picked up this game.
The racing is pretty fun, and the 3D effect is great. I might eventually even try that first-person view that I never use in racing games.

Y'know, Ridge Racer seems like the only racing game that is BETTER in first-person view. :/

The first-person view is much more fun and strategic!!! -> more adrenalin

You need the driving mirror to prevent contestants behind you of actually using your slipstream.
Plus you can see if a nitro car emerges and you can try to block em in the last minute of passing by.
So far those categorie 2 cars are so cool 200 mph is just great fun hrhr ...

cheers
