Just had a chance to try out the demo myself on the eShop and I loved it. It's weird for sure but it's also great fun. Anyone else picking up this in April?

This game looks awesome and I'm hoping to get it for my birthday on the 11th April.

I had zero interest in this game figuring it was a rip off of Elite Beat Agents and other popular DS games. After playing the demo, I really want it. Very polished game with some nice ideas as far as I can see.

If only I didn't need to buy a house, maybe I could afford it.

Pretty polished game. Might buy it if i can find it cheap. My only concern is the length.

The trailer looks pretty good... The demo was fun... I might just pick this up when it's out even though it didn't interest me before.

Picking this up for sure.. I love the demo.. I don't think it's ripping off EBA, SEGA just incorporated some of EBA's gameplay ideas and got creative with it..

Also, I really like the art style ^^

I was skeptical about this game, however after playing the Demo I can see myself Purchasing This. The Cutscenes looks similar to The Professor Layton games which is all the more reason to Purchase 'Rhythm Thief' IMO.

I started this last night and its a lot of fun. The rhythm games are pretty challenging too. I try to get at least a rank C on all of them, if get lower, I'll retry the mission until I have got a rank C or above. The story is interesting too and the anime cutscenes are fantastic!

I've wanted this since it was announced, WHY WONT IT COME TO THE US SOONER?!

I'm loving this game! It has a good story, great voice acting, (especially Raphael) and the rhythm games are so much fun and it nails that one more go factor. They're starting to get really hard now and I restart if it looks like I have no hope of getting at least rank C but no matter how many times I have to restart, I just keep going until I get a rank I'm satisfied with. Sometimes I might get a bit annoyed but its never really frustrating because its just so much fun to play. Its certainly better than that overrated Rhythm paradise. That may have the more memorable songs but the gameplay in Rhythm thief is much better and doesn't have a terrible difficulty curve like Rhythm paradise either. I wonder if my determination to get at least a rank C in each rhythm game will cause me to take longer than the 10 hours most critics are claiming the story takes due to how hard its getting. I'm currently on chapter 3. I wonder how many chapters there are in the game.

That gyro controlled Punch-out style rhythm game I did two days ago was awesome and the controls worked really well too. It makes me want to see a gyro controlled punch-out game on 3DS. It would be cool if Nintendo at least experimenter with an eshop gyro controlled Punch-out game if they are unsure of it. I really hope more people buy this game. Not just because of how good it is but also because its the first great original IP on 3DS.

I beg to differ on the story, I think it is one of the weaker element of the game. The writing is rather weak - it's full of useless chatter that may make a lot of sense in normal Japanese society, but are boring to read in a story. Basically, the dialogue is filled with exchanges like: "Good morning Marie!" "Good morning to you too, Raphael" "Fine day today, no?" "Yes, indeed!" "What a lovely time to go out on a stroll on the wonderful streets of our city!" "Why yes, it lifts one's spirit and makes you sing!". That serves no purpose and should have been cut in the second draft.

Strictly from a story perspective, the game "Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights" features very tight and focused dialogue, that puts to shame the dialogue in "Rhythm Thief".

So the story is a let down for me. I hope you like the rhythm games from the demo.

Is there anyone that could help me with rhythm game 21 - Operation love? I'm really having trouble with that one and I don't get what I'm doing wrong either.

FonistofCruxis

If only I was more skilled at rhythm action games. I was enjoying this game so much as the story was getting better and the rhythm games were so much fun and provided a good challenge too but now they're getting too hard for me and on both the optional rhythm games I recently tried (there are some that are optional as they're not linked to the story) I struggle to get past the first phase (there are 3 phases to every rhythm game) and every time I manage to, I fail in the second phase.

@FonistofCruxis

I'm stuck at the gyroscope shooting rhythm game at the Eiffel Tower, did you already do that one?
Any advise for me? (:

by the way, a tip for you: Maybe close your eyes while playing.. it's easier for me most of the times when I'm only using my ears..
