First of all, m problem started when I downloaded that Youtube app, it may be the cause of this so I recommend NOT downloading the Youtube app because it's truly garbage, just don't do it under any circumstances if you care about your 3DS. Because of this, I might not even download Pokebank or ANY faulty software.
I have 3 copies of Pokemon X/Y, 2x X and 1x Y. I've been playing ALL of them but this only happened after the Youtube app download. The app kept freezing and taking me to the homepage, temporarily shutting down all the things that I downloaded like Netflix, Miiverse and yes, even downloadable games... The game has deleted all my friends, but they're still intact on my 3DS. This sucks because normally it would be smart enough to transfer all of my friends onto the game that I am playing — for example, I have 60 friends on Pokemon X, I take it out to play Y and all of those friends get transferred to Y. This time it just deleted everyone from my main version (X) and not even their friend safari's are normal. They show up as blank "?" and they're gone...
Is this a normal occurrence? I have like 4 3DS things and switch games all the time but the games used to store my friends, not delete them.
what!?!??!?! I have youtube app and never had a problem(involving other apps) because of it.you know what? you should wait your friends to connect again and they will automatically go back to the friends list. and they fixed Pokémon bank. I'm only getting it for the Celebi, though.
you also must report to Nintendo(or gamefreak, both if possible) to and give precise info on the matter so it can be fixed(though I bet it's something minor)
oh and I heard that when you put the Pokémon X(or Y) card on another 3DS some of the PSS data is lost.

No, never hacked. Not even sure what or how to do it. This is why I'm afraid to download stuff now. I'd report to Nintendo but I don't feel like they'd help just one person and I don't feel like being put on waiting lists.

No, actually you should contact Nintendo; one of the best things about Nintendo is their amazing customer service!
and downloading never leads to problems unless you turn off in the middle of the instalation(or have a bad SD card)

Felt bad once, reported that I paid for a game, but then relised it doesn't say you bought it until it downloads. ):
Oh, and every once in a while, the U tube app messes up, its cheap and dumb.
I also had the same prob with Pokemon X, its when you play a Poke game with another 3ds that doesn't have your other friends on it and deletes them.

yeah but there's a warning about the PSS part, you lose the friends list and your ranked battle results if you put the game on another 3DS. kinda like the pal park in Pokémon Diamond it would reset and make you wait 24 hours if the clock changed

Really? This is what I'm complaining about, the games are usually smart and say "Updating friends" for the 3DS that they're put into, not delete them. So I guess I just won't ever switch games, lesson learned: DO NOT play another game if you care about your PSS friends. And I'll report it to Nintendo.

nonononono you got it wrong the lesson is don't put the game on another 3DS. and the friends list will be recovered little by little when your friends go online in the game(happened to me, but when I got the game, it took over 1 week for everyone to show up and even now there are some guys missing because they never played Pokémon XY after I got my copy)
