Well, I think we all knew it couldnt be possible for it to come in November. We all now know that it is almost 2X better than we imagined, and is coming in March. So, its around 300. Personally, I think its a fair price, but 250 would have been fine. The colors are good, but I wish they would NOT release black in every single handheld. Who wants dull black? Anyway, Personally March should be good, because at the moment, I have 180 stored up, and should get 300 with Christmas money and allowances...

Yeah, you missed a lot of discussion. That's the conversion from Yen to USD. I expect the US price to actually be lower than that.

Uh, a lot of people. "Dull" black was immensely popular in Europe where it was first released, and I know some Americans who imported DS Lites from Europe just to get that colour. Also black wasn't a choice for the GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP or DS, nor was it an option for DS Lite for a long time, so they haven't released black versions of EVERY handheld, k.

I know about the yen, if you convert it, its AROUND 280.

No, you can't judge the final price from the conversion. NoA will determine the pricing based upon more factors than just "what was the release price in Japan". The US has really cheap electronics, so I expect it to be around the $250 range. $280 is still plenty reasonable.

Like Mackerel said, Nintendo does not convert yen to $ in the States when determining price. My guess is that it's gonna be $250 here.

If we're really really really lucky, it'll be $229.95 to compete with the new iPod Touch. I doubt it though, it'll probably be $250 like lz and Mack said.

NoA Is probably going to give us different colors. I'm hoping for orange, because in the pictures it seemed to be gold.

I'm going to go with black. I don't really like that half blue/half black look when you open up the 3DS. Solid colors ftw.

I'm getting Aqua Blue. Price is a bit steep, but I'm sure I'll be able to persuade my parents to get me this. Can't wait! Take that, people who don't like Nintendo! This will be the best gaming system ever.

Oh that's cool. I've never seen a black one before. It was smart of Nintendo to have so many colours for the GBA. I hope they have some different colours for the 3DS - seeing how white was so iconic of the DS Lite, I think they should have that available for the 3DS too.

Now that I think about it, black really has been the best color. Thanks to the darkness of black, the screen always looks a ton brighter than other colors!

Is the iTouch/iPhone at all popular in Japan. Based on Japan's loyalty to thing's made in Japan (and lack thereof to everything else.... just look at 360 sales there), I'm guessing no. If that's the case, they don't have to worry about the price being more than that of an iTouch. But elsewhere.....

Wow, I didnt know so many people liked the black. Personally, Iv e just kinda want different colors, especially green and red.

@MysteriousVoice: the only confirmed details we have are for the Japanese release. since the DSi came out in different colors in different regions at launch, I'd guess they'll do the same for us here. I wouldn't rely on the Japanese release info as a definite "yes, we in NA/EU are getting these colors".

Not surprised on slightest we're not seeing it this year, but possibly costing $300? Screw that.
