Topic: Reformatting help?

Hello everyone

I'm using my nintendo 2DS system for reference purposes.

So I was a massive idiot and turned on parental controls, thinking I could turn them off again, which I discovered I couldn't.
I want to reformat my system to turn them off, but I know that will delete everything else.
I only have 2 games: SSB4 (which I have as a physical cartridge) and Kirby: triple deluxe (downloaded off of the eShop)
If I backup save data for Kirby TD and remove my SD card and SSB4 cartridge before formatting the system, will my data be saved?

(I do remember the password I set for the parental controls, but I want them outright turned off)

Is this possible to do? Or do I need to do some fancy stuff with my data?

Why not just turn the Parental Controls off?
