I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me. My son's friend deleted a bunch of video from my son's 3ds. It's not life threatening, just a bunch of stop motion animation that he worked really hard on and would love to have back. Is there anyway to recover video from 3ds? tia.

Doubt it, once deleted it's gone for good...

@Joeynator3000 Probably not, but recovering them involves hacking, and probably digging down all the into the 3DS' software. Not sure if even hackers are capable of that, but it's possible in theory. It's like on your PC, once something is deleted, it's still there, the space is just made available to be overwritten. So the longer you wait, the more distorted the files are, but a PC doesn't ''delete'' stuff in the way we think it does.

Would the files have been saved on the SD card? If so, it could be a simple case of connecting the SD card to a PC and using a file recovery app to find them. Just don't 'write' anything else onto the SD card in the meantime.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

I prefer to use recovery software in such cases. You can check info about Disk Drill app

It helped me to create bootable usb drives for data recovery on Windows and MacOS. I had similar issue and it was the right solution for me. Hope it helps you too.
