I'd love to see a spiritual successor, or something that's much more in tune with the original Rayman....That game reaked of magic and imagination, easily one of the best 2D Platformers....Although it was frusturating and super difficult...Especially finding those god damn critters in those cages...They were ridiculously placed at times, or magically just appeared if you hopped in the right spot...

This. This is the game that got me to love Rayman. But waveboy, did you know that there are actually little twinkling sparkles that are hardly visible that trigger something like a cage to appear when you walk into it?

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Rayman 3D might just be a port of Rayman 2, but it is a LOT better compared to Rayman DS. Trust me, I know because I have played both ports.

UBISOFT are a disgracefull company producing games like the recent Rayman efforts and Rabbids games. The only thing I ever liked about them was when they licensed japanese import games at the beginning of this generation.

I've got to disagree with you to a LARGE extent man!

Now, while Rayman 3D might be a disgrace or a disappointment to some of us, it ISN'T a bad game as in really, really, really, really BAD if you catch my drift via the emphasis on the 'really bad' part nor are the Rabbids games either. If it hadn't been for the very first Rayman and the Raving Rabbids game on the Wii I'd never have gotten into the Rayman franchise. It was because of Rayman and the Raving Rabbids that I became aware of the Rayman games and it was then that I played the sidescroller Rayman game on my friends PlayStation 1.

Sorry to hear that this is yet another less-than-stellar launch title from Ubisoft. I had my eye on James Noir's Hollywood Crimes, but after Asphalt and Rayman being panned I don't know anymore......$40 is a lot to spend to end up not liking the game.

Given Ubisoft also released Ghost Recon, it surprises me that you're dwelling on the negative.

There was clear incentive for Ubisoft to release a bunch of games at launch - no one else did.

Um, Assassin's Creed? Prince of Persia. Oh right, they're not on Nintendo consoles (to a large extent), so they must not exist.

Ubisoft produces the kinds of games for Nintendo consoles that sell. See also: Just Dance. The fact that those games don't appeal to you is irrelevant to Ubisoft being an intelligent business that makes good games (for the most part).

The crap gets farmed off to Gameloft, which Ubi owns.

Even if Assassin's Creed made it to Nintendo's consoles I wouldn't really care about it. That new 3DS AC? Yeah, it's cute that a new AC is coming to 3DS, but nothing I'm looking forward to. So, the whole "Oh right, it's not on Nintendo's console" is pretty corny. At the same time, I do agree that Ubisoft does bring games to Nintendo consoles that they know would sell. At the same time, they should have at least considered making triple A games for the Wii. It's too late now. If 3rd part devs put the effort in games back in 2007 and went with it, then things would be really different. Of course, another story for another day.

I am disappointed that back in 2006, Rayman Raving Rabbids was supposed to be a full fledged adventure game with lots of promise. Then, they switched it to a mini-game compilation which was fun but I would have liked a Rayman adventure title.

The point was directed at Outrun, that conveniently forgot that Ubisoft produces plenty of A-grade titles. Just on other consoles (and yes, Assassin's Creed is an A-grade franchise, despite your personal lack of interest).

At the same time, they should have at least considered making triple A games for the Wii.

They did. Red Steel was a genuine attempt at an A-grade, exclusive franchise. It bombed. Ubisoft even tried to give it another chance with Red Steel 2. It bombed again.

Activision's Call of Duty games sell horribly compared to the PS3/ Xbox versions. EA's franchises sell better on the HD consoles. And you wonder why these guys would rather put those games on the HD consoles? When the stuff that sold on the Wii (from a 3rd party perspective) was the minigame compilations?

Let's not mistake this - there has been no incentive whatsoever for 3rd parties to put effort into making "hardcore" games for the Wii. You can't blame Ubisoft for that.

My fiance and I both played THE GREAT ESCAPE on the N64 and we loved it. That is why we bought this port. We wanted a platformer and this fit the bill. People who have never played it before will enjoy it, especially since there are no great adventure games on the 3DS right now. People need to stop being so critical. Sometimes a 6/10 is not a terrible score; its mediocre.

You havn't seen BAD BOYS 2 ???!!

Woah, my friend. My dear friend WaltzElf please don't trash on my beloved Gameloft. Gameloft has great games on both the DSiWare and iOS platforms.

Crystal Monsters, Date or Ditch, Lets Golf, Zoo Frenzy, Earthworm Jim, Castle of Magic, Legends of Exidia and The Oregon Trail are all very good games. So lets us not toss trash on Gameloft. Gameloft is one of my favorite developers on PlayStation, Apple iOS and the Nintendo platforms.

I love some of the responses to this thread. Ubi make some dodgy games and half-cooked ports, fine. Pretty certain they didn't run over anyone's children. Stop making out like they're Satanic spawn, lol.

Haha, all of those games (especially Crystal Monsters and Legends of Exidia) are precisely why I hate Gameloft so

Just because they're your fave developer Tokyo doesn't mean we can't not like them. They are a pretty meh company from my experience. Asphalt 4 on DSiware was decent at best, but not terrible.

I can't tell....are you being sarcastic? It's like you intentionally listed nothing but terrible games and exiting IPs that they made worse via ports. Legends of Exidia....really? Really? Really?

Really?

Really?

Nah, my dear Irken004, I wasn't saying you had to like em or that could not like them. WaltzElf understands what I was saying. Actually, I just pulled a Sir Francis Bacon / Gandalf psycho move. I just wanted to have a bit of innocently subtle sarcasm to change things up a bit.

I don't know much about Asphalt 4 as it isn't my kind of game. When it comes to racing I stick with Need For Speed and Mario Kart although I've played a little bit of GranTurismo and ModNation Racers and enjoyed it. I do plan on buying ModNation Racers for the Sony NGP.

This is a very enjoyable thread and it's proving to be quite entertaining. Still, I think that Ubisoft and Gameloft do have both good games and sometimes they make bad games to. There's good and bad all over.

I'd be able to give you the benefit of the doubt if you hadn't listed Earthworm Jim along with all that crap. Better luck next time.

That said, if we could get back to the topic of Rayman 3D somehow, that would be nice.

they are supposedly kinda not the most likeable company but to say they haven't made some great games is like saying EA hasn't made money. It's just a blatant lie.
