Okay! so I'm laying out my options regarding my 3DS that has a faulty game slot, I'm reading on the nintendo site and need to know a few things about system transfer, 1. "Data associated with any pre-installed applications (Face Raiders, StreetPass Mii Plaza, etc.). Only the data associated with the source system is retained." (Find Here) so I bought a few mii plaza add-on/s, will the transfer keep my streetpass hits and data on my mii plaza? basically will it be an exact copy from my system to the new one? mii data, eshop, all. please be very detailed with your reply!

Please no 'I think' replies, someone who is straight to the point and experienced!

Yes, and maybe no... intrigued?

Most people have no issues with the data being transferred, others find that their data appears to have gone AWOL. But it hasn't!

Do the transfer and redownload any games that appear to be missing via the Streetpass app (not eShop) - these may be all present, but it's no biggie if not.

Now for your data. If you don't have all your puzzle pieces etc. then turn OFF all options in StreetPass/Plaza then exit the app. It won't hurt to turn off your 3DS too, but this might not be necessary. Wait a minute then turn everything back on - the 3DS and the options in Streetpass/Plaza. Exit the app again, then reload. Bingo everything should be back as it should be.

Of course for most people this isn't necessary, but some (myself included) had to find this out for ourselves.

This definitely works as I've posted these instructions a few times here with an apparent 100% success rate for those that had missing data.

All game data including streetpass is transferred. It's like you're playing your old system.
