I'm in Ireland and having the same problem. I want my extra puzzles!

I'm having the same problem. Mario Kart gets it's DLC fine enough every day so it doesn't have anything to do with my internet connection.

Not working here either... WA, U.S.A., home of Nintendo, 'Merica. Sometimes Nintendo drops the ball. I still don't game my DK Special Edition download code. Even after contacting them 4 times and talking with multiple clients AND hearing from them about getting a response in '4 business days' still I've got nothing.

@Zach777 You did download Layton, and not buy the solid copy correct? You didn't state that, so I'm just making sure. :3

When i try to download the puzzles it say my SD card cannot be read. But i dowloaded the game and its on my SD card... I hope nintendo fixes this soon

Yeah it is the eShop version. The eShop version also does not give you Club Nintendo coins when you purchase it, either.

Of course it does, assuming you've linked your 3DS to your Club Nintendo account. It takes a while before Club Nintendo recognizes a game that you've purchased. Considering it was just released today, give it a little time.

Got an answer from german Nintendo. Roughly translated it goes:
The daily puzzles in Professor Layton and the miracle mask are currently not available yet.
Please try the download at a later time. If it's not possible to download a puzzle in the next days contact us again please.

Edit: Called Nintendo now. They say they're working on it and consider sending out a message when they can make it work.
They also said you can download all the puzzles at once if you want to. So no daily download required.

Nailed it!.... though I was wrong about it being fixed once the NA copy comes out. Oh well. It's good that you got a confirmation of this though, and I hope that they fix this soon.

It is most likely an error in their coding on what date allows unlocking of the daily puzzles. In the past it was found that you were not really downloading anything but unlocking the puzzle after a positive check you were using an internet connection. That is how the unlock all weekly puzzles code was hacked in the previous versions and discovered that all puzzles were actually already in the game. That does not mean that it is true this time however, but I still would bet the reason behind the error was the encoded date. Like somebody else said here...try it about 1 week later and see, assuming of course some fix is not released before that.

Hardcoding a date seems very counter-intuitive and not the way you usually do stuff. It is commonly refered to as a "magic number" and is something you should avoid; a bad practice. You wouldn't need that if you have a backend you're connecting to. It could be some sort of bug, like you state, that would need a patch, but I doubt it.

If this is true then I don't understand why they are sending out spotpass messages (turn Notifications to on, on the menu) saying I quote:

"The first batch of downloadable puzzles for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is ready! Here is the schedule for their release: 26/10 The Alchemist's Lair 01, 27/10 Tetraton 01, 28/10 Ghouls and Guards 01, 29/10 Big Block Box 01, 30/10 Pen Pals 01, 31/10 Food Chain 01, 01/11 Bewitching Night 01, 02/11 Feuding Fiefdoms 01, 03/11 Tomb of the Ancients 01, 04/11 Perilous Voyage 01"

I get the impression something is downloaded. But when trying to access/update the data on the SD card it has troubles locating (the correct path to) it. I hope someone made a typo in some webscript that is easy to fix. But I worry more like Mindez that there might be something more seriously wrong and might even need a patch to fix. Anyway I hope Nintendo will find a solution for us soon as those puzzles are Ideal for thos short casual moments. Until then, I'll enjoy the normal gameplay

but it still doesn't work...
i even beated the whole game! (but this puzzle is a little too hard )
