Topic: Preinstalled games on 3DS

If I were to buy the AC 3DS, could I transfer the data from my current 3DS without losing the preinstalled copy of AC?

Also, If you transfer data from a 3DS with a preinstalled game, would it be available on the other console - would it transfer over?

I don't think you can selectively transfer stuff between 3DS' - I believe it's all or nothing. Also data with the game is lost upon transfer (at least for digital games). Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this - I've never actually transferred myself.

@Geonjaha you are correct about the all or nothing transfer. but all the 3ds ware/retail download games saves are transferd as well the only save data that will be deleted is dsiware. hope this helps

Thanks! I'd rather keep my streetpass data than have a digital copy of AC. I'm not that keen on the AC 3DS XL anyway. Maybe I could get a red one, instead.

When transferring to a new SD card do you lose save files?

No. You shouldn't, anyway. There's something you have to do with the SD card to keep the save files, I can't remember what. Some people have reported lost save files, some people have reported keeping them. I presume a discrepancy when it comes to the SD card step.
