Topic: Pre installed Majora's Mask on N3DS XL

Well, I have a very specific doubt conserning the new 3DS and how to deal with it. The story is:
My kid already has a 3DS, bought at launch back in 2011, which is pretty beated up, the 3D function can't even be turned off. So I'm planning on buying a new one because he has many games still to finish, and the N3DS XL Majora's Mask Special Edition really caught my eye.
I suppose that the LoZ MM game comes pre installed on the included MicroSD card, and I already have many digital games on a 32Gb standard SD card that is used on the previous 3DS, games that are still infinished and would like to be played on the N3DS. Are you following me?
I know that in the N3DS the MicroSD card won´t be easily removable, so I would like to avoid the need of doing that often, since the system’s main user will be a 8 year old kid. And I already know that 4Gb won´t be enough to save all my digital games, so a simple online transfer between systems won´t work, but I own a 16Gb Micro SDHC card that would suffice.
So, the main question is if it is possible to transfer all my digital games to the 16Gb card along with the pre installed LoZ MM??
Sorry for the long post or if a similar question was placed on other threads, but If someone could enlight me about this matter, I will be eternally grateful…

PS.- My bad... I didn'd explain that I live in Brazil but I'm Portuguese, so i buy all my Nintendo stuff there (Portugal/Europe). Pictures of the bundle box say "pre-installed"

Wow, grateful for all eternity? That's a compelling proposition, but are you sure that it does indeed come preinstalled? I know that in North America, it doesn't. Also, did you already pre-order it? Otherwise, it's probably all sold out already.

If all that is cleared up, than I do not actually see a work-around for this problem. The System Transfer details say that you have to format (delete) the target console before transfering. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think it actually does come preinstalled? It's only $200 and the Monster Hunter 4 bundle lists the prinstalled game on the box, and the same retailers are also listing it in the features, but the Majora's Mask bundles don't mention anything about actually including the game...

I'm almost certain it does come pre-installed in Europe. What you would need to do is transfer everything on your current system over to the micro card first then when you get the system I believe you delete the game and then do the transfer. After that then you would need to re-download the game again on the New 3ds. This is exactly what I will have to do with my Monster Hunter system.

Brazil is not Europe...

I know that but I don't know what version of the system they play there. Of course I would assume NA's but for all I know he's importing it anyways. Wasn't there a recent story of Nintendo pulling out of Brazil because of trade taxs?

The trouble with that is, when you do a system transfer, you lose the rights to every game that got deleted when you formatted the console. I don't think he'd be able to download it back. It's as much a rights transfer as it is a data transfer.

Oh course you are. Nintendo isn't going to allow you to buy a system and not have a way to do this transfer. I'll have to read up on it again as I know there is a way. I'm almost certain it has to do with deleting and re-downloading.

Found this on Gamfaqs

During the system transfer process, you'll be told to switch SD cards. Then your existing 32GB card will be used in the new system with all your games intact.
The preinstalled AC:NL will be deleted but you can download it again from the eshop since the accounts are combined.

I had trouble finding the 3DS FAQ, but according to the Wii U System Transfer FAQ, all software on the target Wii U prior to the system transfer is non-retrievable. It seems really unfair, though, so I wonder if it would be worth calling Nintendo (if that's possible) to see if they can somehow send you a download code afterward. I mean, you've bought the game, after all.

EDIT: @Spoony_Tech, That Gamefaqs article is interesting, though. Maybe there is a special case for pre-installed software, kind of like Face Raiders.

The American one does not come with the game (but is cheaper at the same time). The European does come with the game pre-installed. Not sure about Japan though

I didn't realize that the games came preinstalled on these systems! I've already preordered the Monster Hunter edition. Can I do multiple transfers? I think what I'll do is transfer my special edition N3DS data to a friends normal N3DS so he will have the downloaded game, then transfer my 3DS data to my N3DS. That way I'll have my data, he will have the game, and I will get a retail copy. Will that work? Did that even make sense?

That should work. You'll definitely have to buy the game again, but yeah.

@Nicolai Yeah, I already have the special edition of MH4U preordered so that won't be an issue. I might be a little obsessive over Monster Hunter hehe... Do I have a problem?

Of course not, as long as it's not a problem that I'm obsessive over Legend of Zelda

I went through this when I got my Fire Emblem edition way back. Did the transfer and then was all "AGH my new game is gone!" Called Nintendo and they quickly and easily solved the problem for me. Once you've transferred everything onto the new system just re-download the title that had been pre-installed on the new hardware.
