With ports of Metal Gear Solid 3 and Street Fighter 4 making their way to 3DS...what other franchises could be going to the handheld's way?
With the announcement of Valkyria Chronicles 3 coming soon...a few members speculate it could go to the 3DS too....although the odds are staked against them...I think such a game would fit for the platform and it'd be a great opportunity for even Nintendo fans to play SEGA's newest hit.
As for any new announcements of games I hope for a Final Fantasy Tactics 3DS and even a Marvel vs Capcom 3DS port.
I can't see many HD franchises making their way over, mainly because most HD franchises are Western developed and western developers hate handhelds. I think Namco would be stupid not to put Tekken and Soul Calibur on the 3DS though, they put both on the PSP and the 3DS has Dead or Alive and Street Fighter lined up.

What encompases HD anyways? Is it just series that haven't appeared on Nintendo consoles for a generation or so?

Nintendo's released a list of more titles due to hit the 3DS during its lifespan... Surprises like Ninja Gaiden, Contra, three Shin Megami Tensai [sic] games and loads more too. Want the full list? Here you go: feast on it to your heart's content:
I think it's generally referring to franchises that have mainly appeared on the PS3/360(/PC) and probably includes PSP games somehow!(ha!)

Well obviously. (It doesn't include PSP games however.) HD nowadays refers to 720p or above resolutions (which by the way have been available on computers for a long time). My rather obtuse point was that it's really just a buzzword intended to help move expensive TVs from shop fronts into living rooms. It's otherwise meaningless if you look at its use from the broader context, like how the Mega Drive still rendered standard-definition graphics (not that they were called that back then) but could put that label right on its console.

No, I meant in relation to this thread... the PSP would have even less battery life if it was HD!

The PSP's battery life is already appalling, let's not make it any worse! But yeah, the PSP's screen resolution is 480x272, which is even smaller than SDTV thanks to its widescreen aspect ratio. I think that's about the resolution of the iPod Touch's screen, or at least a number of touch screen media players.
To bring this back on topic, I would love to see Marvel Vs Capcom 3 on the 3DS, if possible.

I hope that there will some games with graphics similar to the Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 opening cutscenes; i really hope KH 3D has an HD opening cutscene. Resident evil seems to have HD quality.

The 3DS top screen is a bit of an anomaly in terms of screens. Its resolution is 400x240 per eye (totaling 800x240 with both eyes) which makes it have an aspect ratio of 5:3. That's pretty far from HD, but considering the pixel density I think it should be as sharp as HDTVs appear.
The bottom touch screen is actually higher res than the DS screens at 320x240 pixels (QVGA).
