By coincidence we're getting a new generation next yea so there's that. Pokemon is probably just going to go crazy with merchandise like they did with the 10th anniversary, I doubt it will be anything more than that.

HOWEVER!

I'm willing to bet we will see the return of evolutions/babies for old Pokemon. Being the anniversary they'll probably go all out too like they did with D/P which someone pointed out also came out on the 10th Anniversary.

Hey the sites working again!

I like ORAS, I'm very disappointed in X and Y. I think ORAS got it right in terms of handling Pokemon distribution. You have your Hoenn Dex Poke's which build up atmosphere and give the region its own theme and flare, and then after you defeat the Legendary Pokemon you have a whole bunch of new variations and then you have the mirage spots which pretty much work similar to Friend Safari.

The problem with ORAS' distribution is that there's not enough Pokemon to flesh out the distribution and construct teams, some types are lacking in Pokemon and certain areas either spam Com Mons or have less than 5 Pokemon. Like I said, there needs to be a middle ground between XY and ORAS. The regional dex shouldn't feel like it's overloaded with Pokemon because it drags the difficulty down, but it also shouldn't feel like it's lacking and you see the same Pokemon most of the game.

X and Y were really bland in terms of colors, unlike ORAS which were extremely pretty, not to mention the overall story was lacking and the post game was just a battle facility and only three legendary Pokemon with no lore to back up any of them, and I personally like having legends told in the game, without it feeling shoe horned in, I'm looking at you random old man who had no real significance to the plot!!! 6th gen would have been far better if they had just made ORAS instead of X and Y.

ORAS was no better at handling lore than XY. They pretty much just shoehorned in all of the remaining legendaries via Hoopa and that's it. Absolutely no explanation of why they're there, just a random battle.

No one's saying the main game shouldn't be good. But the post game should also be lengthy as well.

Isn't that what nearly every AAA game does nowadays? You start a new game and are greeted with credits before you get to play?

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

That's called "opening credits".

It's when you are presented with a shorter and (and often) flashier version of the credits after/during an introductory chapter or level. It adds an extra layer of seriousness and usually helps setting the mood for the story of the game.

Said games, of course, usually have a separate set of credits after the conclusion of the story.

Who's to say there wasn't introduction credits after loading the title screen?

What I think they will do:
Relese rare promo cards in Japan, and a cd wich might get interntional relese, a promotional video on their homepage and YT.

What I want:
A special episode of the Anime, where either all of Ash's companions meet up or they wrap up the GS ball story they putted on hold because of the fourth movie.

@Tobias95 just brought something up that I totally forgot about - the 10th anniversary CD. Pokemon X: Ten Years of Pokemon. I imagine they'll release another CD, though there hasn't been any new anime songs besides the opening themes.

Since it hasn't been said yet, the fact that Pokemon is turning 20 next year makes me feel really old.

@Iceclimbers they could dub japanese songs? The Japanese version of the anime has own ending themes, and they could include that ending song from XY

@Tobias95 Maybe. They'd probably include most, if not all of the songs that were on the first CD. That was the opening themes for seasons 1-9 and songs like Double Trouble and the Pokerap. They'd likely include those plus the season 10-17 (season 18 uses the same song as season 17) opening themes.

Well, if they makes a new cd and includes the Indigo league theme, I personaly see no reason to use the s17 intro as its just a new version of the first. I would like to see double trouble, Misty's good bye, two perfect girls for me, Jigglypuffs lullaby, The Electabuzz baseball theme.
Oh, and it would be so cool, if they made a little picture book with the main characters groops in photos like:
1. Dellia, Trace, Samuel Oak and in the background a pc screen with Elm
2. Misty, Casey and Satsuki
3. Brock, old Nurse Joy and New Nurse Joy
4. Officer Jenny arresting Butch & Cassedy
5. May, Drew and Harley
6. Dawn and the girl with glasses from the japanese special
7. Max and his parents and Birch
8. Cilian and his brothers
9. Iris fighting Lance
10. Looker and Jackie fighting Domino
11. Jessie,, James 8 Meowth with Pichu bros. & friends
12. Ash, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie and the princess who owns Clemont

That's what I'm thinking too.

I'm personally hoping they remake Yellow at some point and 20th anniversary sounds like a good enough occasion. Red/Blue-Green would be more preferable but maybe a little overkill since they were already remade.

I wouldn't mind another shot at Kanto. It could certainly benefit from the ORAS approach to storyline if nothing else. Although I'm expecting some significant changes in region design as well, and probably some region specific features as well.

I think if there's another Kanto remake it should be Wii U exclusive.
