Topic: Pokemon Z or X/Y 2

So what do you guys think, are we gonna get the traditional enhanced third version or full sequels like Black and White 2?

I'd really, really, REALLY rather they just make Z.

They'll probably go with Pokemon Z as we never even got the chance to know who Zygarde is and his story. They just put him there in Pokemon XY without even giving at least a bit of story behind him.

There's definitely something coming sooner or later. All the subtle hints in X/Y point to it. I do hope it's Z though.

I belive there will be pokemon Z, instead of XY2. I hope for better story. As if XY were made for newcomers and old fans that wanted to check the game, the Z version would have more sophisticated plot.

I expect some sort of announcement in this field sometime next year - and I sure hope it comes out next year, I've gotten used to getting a new Pokémon game every year! I got Black Version in 2011, Black Version 2 in 2012, and Y in 2013... so I hope there's a new one next year!

I actually hope that Z doesn't launch until 2015. Pokémon shouldn't be a yearly series in my opinon.

@Knuckles: I probably wouldn't mind waiting until 2015... but I think I'd kinda miss my yearly Pokémon game... I suppose in that case I could always go back and play an older game that I missed...

Back in MY day, Pokemon releases happened once, maybe twice in a console's life!
Lol just kidding, but seriously, I remember playing Diamond on my "Hot Rod Red" original DS back in 07 and not having another Pokemon game coming out the following year.

I prefer yearly releases as well. Pokemon games usually get boring after about 3 months of being owned. Now, if they actually gave the games a well thought out story, and gave you a lot of things to complete during post game that I wouldn't consider tedious, THEN I would be fine with waiting two years until another release.

Perhaps they could make the game last longer by adding more gym leaders, perhaps one for every type, excluding four which would be used for the Elite 4. I think the Champion was too easy this time around as well. I remember it taking me forever to defeat Lance, Red, Steven, and Cynthia. It's the last battle in the game, it should give you a run for your money in my opinion.

@BlatantlyHeroic: Yeah. I just don't see Pokémon Y keeping me occupied for two years. It just doesn't have enough content. Generation V had more available to do, I think. hey need to bring back some of those things and add even more so that the game lasts longer.

@Gioku I'm not the only one who after Gen V, is disappointed with the plot of X and Y, right? I mean, Black and White went pretty deep for Pokemon games, and then we go back to little kid land, it was quite the bummer.

@BlatantlyHeroic: I liked both stories. if I was gonna pick a favorite, though, I'd go with Generation V's story. In Gen. VI, destruction was imminent - Lysandre was that close to wiping everything out - but team Plasma actually got stuff done; they actually hijacked the Pokémon League and actually froze half of Unova... ultimately they were a much scarier bunch!

Also, yesterday I was thinking about how gyms could be improved; I think that, rather than having type-centric gyms, there could be stat or battle strategy-centric gyms. Like a gym that focuses on the Attack stat or a gym that focuses on Double Battles. I think that would require much more thinking on the part of the player rather than just knowing the type matchups, and thus make it more interesting.

I think gyms based on stats would be the way to go. Actually, what if we had what you could call the "Ultimate" Pokemon league, where the Elite "5" is composed of every champion, and Red is the Champion of this league. Let's also say that you have to go to every region and collect every badge to go up against this league.

@BlatantlyHeroic You do realise that by going to every region, you will be soon having lv 100 pokemon in your team (at the end of Johto)? And all other fights would be at lv 100. (Unless they slow down the leveling up process, but that won't happen).

Took the words right out of my mouth! You'd eventually hit a point where everything would end up being level 100... unless they significantly increased the maximum level of Pokémon... which I also don't see happening.

The simple solution? Make EXP obtained upon defeating Pokemon lower.

Although, the one thing I'd like to see more than anything is an

increase in difficulty!

So Pokémon X & Y were meant as entry level titles. Okay. So how 'bout making Z one for the hardcore fans? Bring back the difficulty of Generation III! I still find LeafGreen Version rather difficult; especially when compared to the difficulty level of the newer games. I still have not seen the Game Over screen in Pokémon Y.
