Okay for those of you who understand, have done and is reliable with the mechanics of the Time Machine method for breeding in Pokemon X/Y, would you please be able to help me out? I understand most of it all and why it's done, but I just have a few questions about it.

1. Is it 100% guaranteed to get a 5 IV Pokemon in the first try of breeding? Like say, I had a 6 IV Foreign Ditto and a 2 IV FEMALE Mudkip that perfectly covers the IVs that would be passed down by the mother. So, if by any chance the wild card just happens to be SPA, if I breed this Ditto and Mudkip using the Time Machine method, would the baby Mudkip have a guaranteed perfect 5 IV (HP, ATT, DEF, SPD, SPE) as soon as it's hatched? Or is there a chance of obtaining 4 or less IVs?

2. Can this method be repeated with different parents? Considering the above situation, if a baby Mudkip was born with 4 IVs that were superior to the mother Mudkip, can I just keep repeating this Time Machine method over and over again, effectively using superior parents each time I manage to get one?

3. If the answer to 2 is YES, then how can I repeat this method without changing the IVs that are determined to be passed down? Or is there no way out since the new parent has already inherited the IVs that were determined by the scout pokemon?

4. I saw and heard from some articles that Gender Ratios have factored into this method as it disrupts/ruins something with the IV inheritance, and that you should only use scout pokemon with the same gender ratio as your target pokemon. Like Magikarp gender ratio is 50% Male/Female and so is Pidgey, so that would make Magikarp a perfect scout pokemon. But say my target is a Mudkip which has a gender ratio of 87.5% Male and 12.5% Female, would I have to use a Combee (which has the same gender ratio) as scout pokemon?

5. How do I go about doing this method for genderless Pokemon and single-sexed Pokemon? Like Beldum and Nidoran(F).

Sorry if it's a bit lengthy, but no one seems to answer on reddit... so yeah.. Thanks to whoever can answer!

I hope this doesn't come across as rude/mean but I didn't know the pokemon could be cross breed... Or breeding... The last pokemon game i played before pokemon y - 3ds was pokemon red, yellow, & blue for the original gameboy. Sorry...

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

Pokemon can breed with each other as long as they are the same species but different gender (e.g. a male and female Magikarp can breed together). They can also breed if they are in the same Egg Group but not necessarily have to be the same species (google what this is if you do not know). Ditto is a special one of course as it can breed with almost every pokemon (excluding legendaries) even genderless ones.

There is no "Time-machine breeding"

I know what you're refering to but it honestly doesn't work any different than regular breeding since that's basicly all it is.

It's just simple breeding.. you give the one pokemon with the higher IVs a destiny knot and the other with the desired nature an everstone. You keep doing this and replace the parent with an offspring that has better IVs each time.

Also pokemon breed by egg group not by species. Nidoking and nidoqueen are in the undiscovered so they cannot breed while beldum I believe is genderless leaving it breedable only through dittos (and it's in the mineral group but because of genderless it can't breed with others reguardless)

Reguarding the gender ratio thing it's entirely RNG based, you can't control it.

Imo just using a 6IV ditto is quick and painless.

Yeah I do too. But at the moment I still don't have one. so lol. And besides doing this method can save space and even time with the extra pokemon you get but are useless. Still, nothing can beat a Foreign 6 IV Ditto in breeding. But it would still be nice to know the answer to these since it may come in handy sometime in the future..

EDIT: Since this method determines the IVs that will be passed down by both parents... This means that a 6 IV Ditto would certainly make things easier but we know only certain IVs will be passed down from it, depending on which parental role it's filling in. As with this method you are effectively choosing which parent has the perfect/corresponding IVs to those that are being passed down. With this method, a 6 IV Ditto would be helping you with choosing it as the parent that passes down more IVs than the other. Having the 6 IV Ditto cover the role of the parent that passes more of it's IVs down, it would certainly make breeding a lot quicker - in theory.
