Still no luck finding someone with a Steel Safari. 😕
I have a steel Safari, but no Metagross.

So I have 3 Fire Safaris that are supposed to have Ninetails in them, but been searching for an hour an no sign of one.
Also non related question, I've seen plenty of videos of people finding shinies in friend safaris after a number of wild encounters, how can I see the exact number of encounters? like, how do they know? sorry if it's a very nooby question but I really wanna know

1) Well it could be that the Ninetails are the third pokémon in their safari... you can only catch them after they person you've friended has been online the same time as you. That's why I don't add too many people on as they can sit there unfulfilled.
2)It's just counting, the game won't tell you how many encounters you've had so you just do what we did when EV training in Gen3... you make a tally chart on a notepad.
If you just want the one pokémon, I can catch & trade one for you as one of my connections has a Metang safari... does mean IV breeding would take you a while longer though (had to do my IV breeding on my Eevee using Smeargles).

Oohhh I see haha I'm an idiot, didn't know that the person had to be online to find the third poke x)
And I've seen videos in where people have like a crazy amount of encounters, like above 3000 and so on...so it seemed weird to me that they just counted it, maybe they are using some sort of device? well thanks for clearing my question for a moment I thought the Pokedex or something in the game could tell me how many times I've seen a certain pokemon, that'd be a cool feature actually.
