@Metroidlink Thanks so much! :D Sorry for the initial confusion btw, I didn't realize it was you.

Avian fact of the week: The Moa, an extinct relative of ostrichs and emus that inhabited New Zealand, was the tallest bird that ever lived at 12 ft tall (3.6 m). It was also the only known bird to have no wing structure.

LOL can you guys imagine how dark and crazy a Shin Megami Tensei X Pokemon crossover would be? HAHHA! That would prolly be the darkest Pokemon story.

Ways Pokémon Should Change in the Future #1

  • Gyms
Aside from completely removing the gym mechanic (which would require a replacement that might not be better), I think the way gyms are handled should change. Rather than focusing on a specific type, gyms could focus on a specific stat, or battle strategy. Having gyms based on stats rather than types would force the player to think a little harder, and think about building a team from the very beginning, rather than focusing on beating a specific type.

@DreamyViridi: Yeah exactly, that'd be cool! ...they kinda had it going the right way with the Dragon Gym in Black 2; it still had a type focus, but the two sides had people who focused on different stats.

@Gioku - No denying the concept is cool. Blue's Gym is close to that if I recall. No type focus, just hard trainers. Remember Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald's Hidden Bases? I always thought it would've been cool to be able to make your own Mini Gym. Give Trainer classes your Pokémon to fight with and make yourself the Gym Leader, y'know? Kinda like Fire Emblem: Awakening's Streetpass Team mechanic.

It's a shame that X & Y's Streetpass doesn't do much.

Hidden bases already worked kinda like mini customizable gyms (minus the having gym trainers part). You could trade data and that included your hidden base along with you current team!

If you found your friend's hidden bases, then you could fight them inside them.

@Morpheel - Oh, I did not know that. They could have expanded upon that, maybe.
I stick by the fact that X & Y's Streetpass is rather lacklustre...

@Nintendofan134
No, it does not, but if you go too Lumiouse City's Stone Store, one of the NPC's will sell you the remaining 1st Gen Starter Mega Stones for 10K each, IE, I chose a Squirtle & got the Mega Stone for Blastoise from Prof. Sycamore at some point in the Game so the NPC from the Stone Store sold me the Mega Stones for Charizard & Venusaur.

My Friend Code's 2750-1893-4742 if you still want too trade.

@DreamyViridi What does StreetPass do anyway? I've had the green light on my Y icon for some time but haven't figured what happens.

Does anyone know if random wild Pokemon can have their hidden abilities? I'm looking to get an Espurr or two with its hidden ability, so I'm wondering what's the best way to go about that.
EDIT: Nevermind. A friend of mine has Espurr in her Friend Safari.

Pokemon X/Y is a step in the right direction for future Pokemon games. Beautiful world, great music, and interesting story. It just been coulda more. ALOT more. I look at Pokemon X/Y as a really good game that has flaws.
The next Pokemon game oughta be really good. :)

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I do plan on getting a PS4 someday :D
