Hey peeps, I just bought a 3ds and Moon version few days ago from hearing all the Stars hype. I wanted to hold over for a game on the switch. Poke Ultra needs to have significan changes because now I have to start all over again in a few months time in same region with the same annoying
tutorial?
Ideas* we become master of and recruit our own NPC for Pokémon league/Gym and have random NPC come fight us and roam the map!!

My main wish for these games is for there to be more to do in the post-game. That was my only gripe with the originals really. A 2nd region (maybe Kanto due to all the references to it in SuMo?) would be great but I'm really not expecting it.

Kalos. If they're doing a 2nd region Kalos desperately needs something. It's the only region to not get some kind of followup and there were a lot of loose ends in the region that they never resolved. USUM serving as a third game to both Kalos and Alola would be one of the few things that would get me excited for this game, that would be a pretty fresh idea, and there's a lot more potential in expanding on Kalos than there is on Alola.

This game could be dramatically different from Sun and Moon. Most of that game was the unique trials that took the place of gyms. I never played Black and White 2 to see how those games did it, but Ultra S&M could be pretty cool if they replaced all of the trials with new gyms and added onto the world besides (the last 2 islands in particular). At the same rate, if they just left the challenges as is or simply changed dialogue they would feel pretty lame to play through.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

What could they really add to the region? It's pretty full up, there's not really any room for new areas, and especially not a BW2 size expansion. They would have to add new islands for that, and I don't see that happening. Aside from doing things like say, letting you explore that golf course, I don't really think they're adding new areas, Alola's about as big as it can get.

@Haru17 BW2 were basically Pokémon on steroids.
You had an insane variety of Pokemon to build your team right off the bat, it added two or three side distractions with the World Tournament alone being a massive time sink for people who were into battle facilities in the games before it, the story was pretty neat and put a different light on the "evil" teams as a whole and they added, like, a third of the original Unova worth of entirely new areas and updated almost everything else that was returning from BW.

Let's just say there's a damn good reason why the games are pretty much considered to be the best in the series

If they can do even half of what they did to Unova with Alola in Ultra SuMo, the games are gonna be amazing.

What a beautiful signature.

I am very happy to hear we're getting new pokemon though - so that alone is reason enough for me to get these.

GameFreak has never introduced new Pokémon mid generation, only formes, which have been promoted as new Pokémon since formes made their debut. Therefore we should not expect any new Pokémon for these games, only new formes.

Pretty sure in the reveal, the translation stated we would get completely new pokemon that "weren't in Sun and Moon". I mean, I could be wrong - but I rewatched that video several times over. I'm at work right now, so I can't double check now, but I'll gladly do so and link to the part in the video where I saw it.

Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.

They were likely referring to Pokemon that simply weren't obtainable in Sun & Moon (unless you transfered them in with Bank). Black & White to B2/W2 was similar; the former locked you to the new Unova Pokemon until the post-game, while the latter added TONS of non-Unova Pokemon very early on. It made team building easier.

When they say "new Pokémon" in PR, they're counting new forms as new Pokémon. They're probably referring to the Necrozma fusions and presumably new Alola forms as " new Pokémon".

Some food for thought. RBY on VC allowed you to transfer Kanto forms to Sun/Moon. With the release of GS on VC, and the likeliness of new Alolan forms, will those new forms be based on Johto Pokemon? We could also get Alolan Oddish family, if they expand the Alolan forms to Johto Pokemon as well. Tiki-based Natu and Xatu? Water-type Phanpy and Donphan? Tropical Hoppip family?

Give me a dark type Teddiursa/Ursaring and I'm happy.

And now that I write that I realize that they did that for, like, half of the Kanto stuff with Alola forms already.

Meh. Dark type rocks

We already have that. We call them “Pancham“ and “Pangoro“.

If we're talking 2nd gen Alola forms, give me Bug/Fighting Ledian, Grass/Fire Sunflora, Psychic/Flying Noctowl, Psychic/Dark Girafarig, and pretty much anything else for Dunsparce (Dragon? Fairy? Flying? Ground? Some combination of those?).

Ground Fairy would work nicely I think.

Maybe Rock Fairy to make rollout a bit more useful.

My avatar rejects fairy Houndour. The rest of these I could roll with.

How about Dark-type Alolan Miltank? It would be the single greatest thing ever; a cow that produces chocolate milk.
