@kkslider5552000: actually, the third game (Gates to Infinity) is a really good game. Many fans just didn't like it because of the limited number of Pokemon and the fact that it's shorter than the previous game (the post-game is contained in extra dungeons and developing your base, but there's no story telling you what to do anymore).
But after playing it, with its more refined mechanics, it's actually a bit hard to go back to the previous games.
If you find it cheap and like PMD, I'd recommend getting it.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels

I'd almost forgotten about this game. I'm a bit unhappy about the fact it's coming soon in NA but we in Europe have to wait for months (well, to be fair, you're still waiting another month before getting Yoshi's Woolly World). I enjoyed Red Rescue Team and loved Explorers of Sky but was a bit disappointed by Gates to Infinity mostly because of the graphics style change from 2D to 3D, the limited amount of Pokémon and the missing quiz at the start of the game. I didn't play very far so I have to give it another chance before buying the new one. My interest in Mystery Dungeon games seems to stop as soon as I beat the game. I stopped Red Rescue Team as soon as I finished the story and in Explorers of Time I played after the Shaymin event.
I was thinking, and since evolution seems to be more prominent in this one (the cover has the starter Pokemon in multiple stages of evolution), I wonder if they'll allow the main characters to evolve in the story.
Hopefully that means they'll make all the required portraits for all those Pokemon. It's always sad when you evolve your Pokemon or your partner and they become emotionless and forget how to sleep in a bed (seriously).
i disagree. i like that they changed some things. the only thing I don't like is that they brought the hunger mechanic back. Everything else I'm very excited for. To me it sounds better than Gates to Infinity.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
I'm disappointed about the hunger as well... it kinda puts an unecessary pressuring timer in the game that forces more rushing than exploring. I remember back in explorers of time, I'd wait for the legendaries to show up.. and then suddenly just starve looking for them cause I had no money or my bag was full.
-can only have one Pokemon of each species (+formes and gender difs), which means evolution is pretty pointless.
-Recruiting is gone, now they'll only join you as part of the request system.
-Your team is limited to 3 Pokemon.
-Escort missions are back. And you'll have to do them.
Also, serebii beat the story with his team in the early 20's. That's a bit weak.
To be fair, its just the "man story". There's also the post game and beating all the dungeons.
Edit: apparently, your stronger Pokemon get "closed off" after you use them on a number of quests and you can't use them for some time. That sounds eh.
You can only use your starter pokemon at any level, however any pokemon that are above the starter's level get blocked off so the player doesn't just ignore their main characters and use others they find. (Tbh I hacked my starters to be ninjask and giratina in explorers of time anyway.)
It's understandable why they have this mechanic, but it wasn't really necessary.

i don't care about that. There's still 120 dungeons and they haven't done the Meowth ones yet. I have other games I'm getting between now and the end of the year so this won't be the only game I will have to play.
Level 20? That's concerning. Of course, I can't remember what my team was around during the climax of the game's story in Explorers. I think it was like 40 or 50, but that's without a ton of grinding.
Oh, apparently there's DLC dungeons for this game like with GtI. Each DLC dungeon adds two new music tracks, one that plays in the dungeon, and one that's playable on the main menu as a bonus. Those music tracks are rips straight from Blue Rescue Team for the most part, though there is at least one track ripped from Explorers.
The main soundtrack sound pretty good from the few track I've listened to, and there's a few remixes of dungeon themes from Rescue Team and Explorers.
