I think the game is very promising. It combines the two biggest selling points that GTI and previous installments had.. Graphics for the former, completed roster for the latter. I also am really glad you can pick your start this time, I always hated that stupid quiz EOT had, mostly because I'd just get my least favorite out of the available pokemon.. picking makes things alot more enjoyable.
Unlike Bolt_strike, I'm glad they didn't just throw a bunch of out of place pokemon like axew, vulpix etc. cause, well, they're out of place and aren't really starters. We did get riolu for whatever reason.. but atleast I can still use snivy.
The ONLY concern I have, is like I said, the cinematics seem a little cheesy or the animations/models for the pokemon in them. Again, entei's "big entrance" is very anti-climactic soley due to the face he has when he does it.

Is a vague sense of being "out of place" really enough to warrant killing the variety though? Why does it matter if they're random Pokemon in the main game, they can make whatever they want a starter. The only thing a Pokemon needs to be a starter is marketability, aside from that, they can do whatever they want. And it would've made perfect sense to have some extra 6th gen in there since it's their time to shine.
Marketing is also the reason why Riolu is the only other non-main game starter in there, because it's gotten a ton of marketing and is one of the most popular Pokemon in the series. It shouldn't be that surprising really.
I think this game looks allright.
And I'm sure I will enjoy it, as long as they don't put in something like last boss before you saved the world in gates to infinity
Playing as Meowth, Skitty or Psyduck (etc) in the older games was pretty fun.
I remember doing the survey to choice you Starter and got Munchlax. Wasn't happy (rather softly offended), but I went with it and I found it funny to play a pokemon like Munchlax. It adds variety. Especially cause Munchalx was Normal typed and rather bulky with a weird learn set. That's what was so great about the previous starter choices.
Wavedashes behind you Got some of dat Maylay?

Apparently, the story was explained a little bit in an english trailor. Basically the story revolves around legendary pokemon, and pokemon are suddeningly turning into stone.
Either:
A) Yveltal is already confirmed as the main antagonist.
or
B) director Junichi Masuda was put in the game and changed it to Junichi Medusa

The game seems to show you a roulette with all the possible pokemon you can be after the quiz, so that's what that was. I'm kinda glad the quiz is back, it was a nice way to start the game.
Too bad the selection is limited to just the usual starters(+rioulu).
About the chart, it might be just there to show you the Pokemon you've "caught"?
"A brand new trailer has been released for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, which is due for release in Japan on September 17th. It shows that you can travel the world with your partner to enter various Dungeons. It confirms that you decide your Pokémon & partner through questions, as per the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon titles." - serebi
WHELP, guess you guys will just have to tell me which ones give you snivy and fennekin.
I was thinking the chart thing, was just the extra missions for those specific pokemon.. kinda like in explorers of time you had those billboard missions.
I want Spike Chunsoft to take the day off and just play Crypt of the Necrodancer. Just beat that game, sit, think on it, and have a come-to-Birdjesus moment. I want them to realize that they can make a... good... game. A game that isn't padded nor repetitive nor iterative. A game that they can exert creative pull over, inject, dare I say, new ideas into.
Hopefully this game improves the series like it hasn't really seen before, but until then, Crypt of the Necrodancer
according to serebii.net and corocoro magazine, there will be 120 dungeons across 5 continents. There will be special Meowth dungeons that will reduce your level to 5 and have their own special rules.

This makes me want this game even more. November can't come fast enough lol
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
Oh, man, the last time I played a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was around 5+ years ago. I'm gonna give this one a try and get back into the series. 120 dungeons adds to the excitement! I seem to have gone off Pokemon recently, for some reason, but I'll get back into it!
This is a reminder of how behind I've gotten on this series. Not only am I two generations behind but I didn't even play the Mystery Dungeon sequels (though from what I understand, I can safely skip the 3rd game)
