Topic: Pokemon ORAS update glitch?

So I finally got around to updating my copy of Alpha Sapphire, but when I selected the "update now" button, my 3DS froze. It's still on the 3DS menu, the music is still playing, but the bottom screen is just white.
It's been like this for a few minutes now. I'm worried shutting the system down might corrupt the game.
What do I do? ;-;

okay, shut down the system, and all seems well. Save data's still in tact. c:
