Ok just got this game. Had to go on an adventure just to get the game. Its Sunday release really messed me up, because most of the stores I went to closed early. Luckily Wal-mart stays open forever, so I eventually got it. I only have one question though. Is this going to be the place to trade WonderMail? Or will another Topic be started just for that?
I don't really have an idea for a signature, so I guess this will do. For now.
@Bert - Don't see why not unless someone wants to devote a thread to it. Never really understood the system, but might as well start now.

When it came out I downloaded it at midnight and now I've completed the main game. My opinion is that even though there's not nearly as many playable characters to chose from, the graphics are not only amazing, but the story moved me to tears. I say it's the best game in the series to date.

Really? Is the main story shorter than the previous entry? I remember grain ding for days on end before I saved the future...
I plan on posting my review both here and on the Pokemon General Discussion thread, so stay tuned to that :3
The story really is amazingly moving - every character has a really intense back story, it's amazing.
I don't think the main plot is shorter than others in the series, but it moves along a lot faster. I found the other games would make you do several missions before anything new would happen in the story - this one is a bit faster, but I honestly don't think there's less, they just didn't feel the need to put in a lot of extra padding.
Part of the reason for this, is because there is also a really cool sort of land management system in the game that I'm surprised we aren't all talking about. It is seriously the coolest thing... you own a chunk of land that you can develop and build facilities on, and these facilities can be things from training dojos, shops and farms, to mini games and other facilities to help you out in the dungeons. This game is seriously blowing my mind, it's SO good.
I just realized that there's a distinct possibility that a Pokemon game is gonna be the game on a Nintendo system that is overshadowed by other games.
...huh
it's almost surreal that this is turning out to be true. I mean, I get Luigi's Mansion but even Etrian Odyssey 4 or whatever seems more relevant than this game. I mean ok, it's the internet so that might not reflect reality but still... That's not necessarily a bad thing but it's weird, especially for a Nintendo sequel that has had commercials and stuff.
@kkslider5552000 - I've never heard ANYONE make a big deal about the Mystery Dungeon series before though. Personally I've always been the only person I know playing them, and I've never seen any advertising for them outside of actual game speciality stores. Luigi's mansion is clearly getting much more media attention, but I don't see how that is surprising.
Besides, once fuss over Luigi's Mansion dies down, people who ARE into the Mystery Dungeon series will quickly realize what they're missing out on. This game is stellar.
I beat this on wednesday and cried during the ending... Simply a masterpiece this game is. Honestly, the story is perfect, the music complements it, and the gameplay is simple but hard so anyone can enjoy it. I haven't played such a amazing game since Ys I and II...

For the record, the first hour or two were painful to go through, the game was so slow. >.<

I do like this, even though I've only been playing for like an hour, but I am disappointed that not all the pokemon are in it. Can you still play as recruited pokemon? And somebody PLEASE tell me that Diglett is in it somewhere...

Yes, you can play as recruited Pokemon. There's even a whole mode for that.
