For me, it sometimes feel like Kalos is a little too long, with, if I'm honest, too much pokes (I couldn't decide which pokemon to catch xD). If they do make a 6.5 set in Kalos, hopefully they make the routes more appealing, more things to do, and less of the (old) beasties.

What? One of the best things about the newer entries is the inclusion of older Pokemon to improve the variety. BW2 was so much better than BW1 in large part because of how many more Pokemon you could catch before the E4.
I will agree that having so many Pokemon to catch creates an issue in figuring out which ones to use, but that's why you have multiple play throughs.

I try to limit my progression line-up to that generation's new Pokemon. It lets me experience the new Pokemon and get a variety of Pokemon throughout the area. After I finish my progression I try to catch a more competitive line-up
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

i normally don't care about designated teams outside of nuzlokes. usually just stick to my starter and the first 5 pokemon i happen to catch (until i start finding legendaries in which case i switch to those)
Is this a joke? Are you having a chuckle? Haha, very funny. I'm the one with a degree

I can't see them removing Pokemon from a regional dex, that doesn't seem like it'd go over well. Really, unless there's going to be Gen 6.5 Pokemon they should leave the Kalos Dex alone, adding in more old Pokemon is just going to leave less Pokemon for post game and make the old vs. new balance problem even worse.
At this point the only regional dexes that need that sort of treatment are Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, as all of them have some poor balancing issues thanks to the lack of options back when they were first created (Ghost, Dragon, and Ice being common offenders). Sinnoh could also use a bump in Dragons, but aside from that Platinum's expansion fixed everything that was wrong with DP's Sinnoh Dex.
@Bolt_Strike: I'd say the Sinnoh Dex could still use some more Fire types. Platinum's expansion helped, but it wasn't enough.
It was a massive help, they sure fixed Flint's roster a lot. Maybe one or two more would be good, but that's about it, they only really need about 5 or 6. Dragon is really the only type left that is truly lacking, with there only being the Garchomp and Altaria lines. But you could do much worse than Sinnoh, look at some of the other regions:
Kanto
3 Dragon (one is a Mega, another is a cross gen evolution)
1 Ghost
2 Dark (1 is a Mega, 1 is a cross gen evolution)
3 Steel (2 are cross gen evolutions)
4 Fairy (1 is a cross gen evolution)
6 Ice (1 is a legendary, 1 is a cross gen evolution)
6 Fighting (1 is a Mega and a legendary)
Johto
4 Dragon (2 are Megas)
2 Ghost
6 Dark (1 is a Mega)
5 Steel
Hoenn
8 Dragon (3 are legendary, 1 is a Mega)
5 Ghost (1 is a gimmick Pokemon)
7 Steel (2 are legendary)
5 Fairy (1 is a Mega)
4 Ice (1 is a legendary)
6 Fighting (1 is a starter)
vs.
Sinnoh
2 Dragon
6 Fairy (1 is a Mega)
5 Fire (1 is a starter)
It's pretty obvious which dexes need fixing the most.
I wish all the old pokemon were replaced with new ones in "gen 6.5". That's what ruined kalos most for me, the fact I literally had only 2 kalos mons on my team by the time I reached E4.. it feels better when old is left for post game and new is focused on main game, so you can actually get to know the new ones instead of abzududemarilchucooldoslix being present on at least one CPU's party or wild on every single route.. it's pretty bad when the champion is the only NPC to even have a full kalos team, in the kalos region..

I actually liked how often I was seeing different Pokemon, especially now when I am just hunting for Pokemon. Going into another cave and seeing the same Pokemon (Zubat, Geodude, Onix) gets boring.
I thought it was funny how they had a Zubat cave to kinda poke fun at how often Zubats flood caves

I think there needs to be a better balance, which is something Game Freak seems to not understand. You don't want a huge dex with a ton of old Pokemon like Kalos but you also don't want a smaller one with nothing new like BW1 Unova. You want something in between, a majority of the Pokemon should be the new ones but there should also be a variety of older ones, like Hoenn, Sinnoh, and BW2 Unova.
I think we've finally confirmed what these blobs are..
If the fact the new mega evolution special revolves around them, and that they give off a massive power which looks exactly like land's wrath isn't confirmation they're related to zygarde.. I don't know what is.
To me.. it looks like a lugia case, with there being multiple zygardes, and perhaps one takes the position as ruler over the others.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and the red dots are all shaped like hexagons now that we have a closer look.

How would that even work mechanically? You can't just have 10 blobs and one of them becomes Zygarde.
Same way a Vespiquen happens I guess, just because there are 1000 combees doesn't mean there is more than one vespiquen per hive.
Or like diancie and the carbinks, one is genetically more special then the rest and just becomes a diancie.. but in the games they're just treated as seperate pokemon.
EDIT: or if we want a better example from another franchise, the queen metroid only coming from a metroid with the proper genetic make up.
"Alain's journey in pursuit of becoming the strongest once again takes him to the Kalos region. Wanting to become even stronger, he bets his Mega Ring and Mega Stone on being able to defeat 10 Mega Evolution users in a row. Alain throws him into battle. Mairin is worried sick about Alain. And Mairin's partner, Hari-san the Chespin, meets a mysterious being. It all leads up to something seriously major... We've finally reached the final act of the story! Don't miss the shocking climax!!"

So Zygarde is some sort of permanent mega evolution of them?
Interesting, maybe Zygarde will finally get a character, place, or, failing that, point now.
