Maybe there aren't enough consoles out there yet. The developers don't feel like there are enough potential purchases. The only way that gets fixed is by first-party releases and Christmas.

Okay, in all seriousness, I'm doubting Nintendo will delay those games. Well, Kid Icarus might get delayed, knowing Sakurai. These delays and cancellations aren't helping the 3DS' image. Now people are crying foul on Nintendo.. And the system... Did I miss something? Did I overlook the fact that Nintendo has control over third-parties? Maybe I should try that kool-aid people are having lately..
Yeah Sakurai delayed the smash bros games, I think I read that Europe isnt getting Icarus until next year.
The new Mario looks fun but the one game I would love to have come out on time; is the New Mario Kart. Imagine wii equivalent graphics (if not better) on your 3DS this winter! I would love to see spot pass downloads for new and retro tracks!

wasn't the entire point of 3DS and 3rd party basically Nintendo saying "here 3rd party, make popular games, we will do anything for you just save us!"
And 3rd party developers one by one whispered to Nintendo "no".
And yet Nintendo is somehow the sole reason for this problem. Because, we can't blame multiple factors, that would mean we couldn't play the blame game like 10 year olds.
the third-party support for nintendo has always been a problem. Its great to see original titles come out but if they dont sell well, they freak out and stop supporting the systems. A lot of new games could be put on the eshop; this would save third-party publishers money.

Delays are bound to happen, people delay it to perfect it, just be happy that when it gets finished it should be perfect... otherwise it'll end up like Duke Nukem Forever and we all know how that turned out.
As long as Animal Crossing 3DS is released this year the rest of those games can go explode for all I care.
Unfortunately, I doubt we will see this game until next year because there hasn't been as much revealed about this game as other first-party games for the 3DS, the same goes for Paper Mario 3DS.

Here's how it works: A console manufacturer, in order to justify its licensing fee to put a game on it, has a responsibility to get a lot of units into people's hands.
A games publisher is not responsible for selling consoles. Square Enix, Capcom, EA et al have no obligation to support a console that won't make them money.
The 3DS is not making 3rd parties enough money right now. If I was a publisher, I certainly wouldn't devote the same resources to a console that has an install base of around 4 million, when I could be producing games for a console with some 50 million out there.
That's just basic business sense. The only one responsible for the 3DS sales is Nintendo itself. This is what sunk SEGA, the company took very little responsibility for selling its own consoles.
... Then what's the point of making new games on new platforms? What's the point of making games on PS4, Next-Box, WiiU- yeah, the fail logic is complete utter fail. How are you going to get a user base with no games? Rely on Nintendo?
Nuh-uh. Get your act together. Market your game right. And this won't be an issue. And let those delays actually be real delays. Finding out that the game is done in September- but they decide to hold it off for some later date, no way. That's tacky.

anyway, for some reason I'm expecting Shinobi to be delayed. That would suck, as I'd rather get into that series than buy Metal Gear Solid but whatever.
Konami might convince me to finally buy a Metal Gear Solid game entirely because nothing else 3rd party will be around at this point.

Has everyone else forgotten about Tales of the abyss 3DS? Then again, it is only cofirmed for an EU release in November but I would be surprised if its American release isn't close by. Also, Shinobi 3DS is was delayed to November and thats when MGS: snake eater 3D is supposed to be out. I don't care for Shinobi but I know many do.
