Surprisingly, I've never had a problem with stuff like this.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

after the 2 hour mark, the 3D for me starts to become a bit less noticable and mildy hazy.
This was the case with PilotWings Resort. I usually can't go past the 2 1/2 hour mark without getting the Goopey eyes with the 3D effect being kind of altered. At least I know my limit now 3D-Wise

Maybe it's because of playing in the dark as well, which must be harder on your eyes all together.

True zez, I myself love the 3D, and I did buy the 3DS mainly to see that amazing effect, but it's definitely not the only feature the 3DS has.

It did in the beginning, but now it doesn't. Maybe for too long sessions it would, but mostly I play wit the 3D off. It's about gameplay for me, not graphical shit.

I remember when I first played the Wii. I kinda had a childish mind, and I thought Wii Sports was so awesome.

It does hurt my eyes. I never use the 3D effect.

Lol then why did you by 3Ds

I dont know about Pixelman but the 3D effect wasnt why I bought it. I bought it mainly for games like SM3DL and Mario Kart 7 and some of the VC games. Also I bought it for Netflix on the go as well so that way when I have some down time between my classes at school I can watch an episode of King of the Hill or something like that.

The media skews public opinion, unfortunately.

The 3D doesn't hurt my eyes for some reason, but they hurt my brother's.

It never hurt my eyes. I always have it on when I play 3DS games. When I turn it off, the gameplay suffers.

Turning the 3D off totaly makes the experience suffer. PilotWings Resort 'without' 3D is just....well...No exciting, plus it's harder to judge distance. With it on however it because i highly enjoyable, stunning and magical little immersive experience. the 3D made PilotWings Resort 5x more enjoyable than it would of have been if it didn't have 3D.

Honestly, if this game didn't have 3D i wouldn't of even bothered. Plus, switching to 2d makes the graphics softer and less impressive.

Street Fighter IV had lowsy to subtle 3D effects, while Nintendog's were almost none exsist half the time, while being subtle.....The doggy kennel area where you meet all of the gods up close is when the 3D shines, OR when at anytime your dog hops up to the screen and tries to lick your face. Other than that, hated the game.lol

The 3D hasn't ever hurt my eyes, with the exception of when I get out of that "sweet spot" and see double. That can hurt sometimes.

Mati, 3DsLover, and TeeJay, could you add me? I added you.

Nope, not coincided at all.

k8sMum

why all the snarkiness towards those who do have problems with the 3D? the vast majority of us know that the effect can be turned down, yet anyone who bought a 3DS yet is disappointed to find they have problems, ie eye pain, headaches etc are 'dummies' for not just turning it down?

this product is a 3Ds, emphasis from nintendo on the 3D without glasses effect. but because YOU (used generally, not at any one person) aren't bothered, can play for 1000 hours and never had a problem anyone who does have trouble is stupid?

i am trying to decide if, knowing i have problems with the unit with 3D enabled, will find the unit worth purchasing anyway. i've played it in the store and know that i will only be able to stand playing with the 3D set very low or off entirely. is it still worth getting?

@k8sMum: if the 3D isn't a factor for you, then it's gonna be down to the games — are there any games out for it that you want to play? will there be any games out for it that you want to play? if the answer is 'no' to those questions, then it may not be worth your time to pick one up. i don't really like playing mine with the 3D on for prolonged periods of time (gives me headaches), but it's no problem for me to play the games i want to play with it turned off, to be honest — they're still just as fun. :3

@k8sMum: Its like TBD said. For me the 3D factor wasnt the it factor for me. As I said in my post above I was looking for something portable with more options than my DS for when I am at school. With the 3DS I not only get the games but I can also watch Netflix and browse the web and with the VC games downloaded I dont have to carry a ton of gamecards on me either. I mean for me even if the 3DS didnt have the 3D effect I would have bought it anyway the only thing that kept me this long from buying one was the price and the color options.

In truth the 3DS has lived up to my expectations and I am glad that I got it.

It doesn't hurt my eyes but, it took me a while getting used to it and to actually "see" the 3Dness. :c
I have bad eyes and I can't really see the 3D effect as well as others might.

I don't know why people complain about it so much. I suppose it affects some people more than others, but there IS a switch. But it works fine for me, so, I couldn't care less. :T
