Today in class, we were discussing current news in the world.
I brung up the new circle pad for the 3DS, some of the new games, and the pricedrop(which many in the class didn't know about)

A lot of the people said, "But doesnt the 3D hurt your eyes?" "Yah, I heard that too!".
One person even said that they're getting the DSI XL instead!
How can Nintendo make people see it doesn't hurt your eyes?
Maybe do another cross country thing like with the wii lol

Did you tell them that you can turn off the 3D and even block its use with the parental settings?

It does hurt my eyes. I never use the 3D effect.

No XD
I wasn't thinking about that
But I told them I played my friends for, like, 2 hours straight with 3D on

@Pixelman

lol Get a DSiXL when you could just get a 3DS with exclusive games made for the system and DS games.

there are some people with sensitive eyes like Pix, I guess. But 3D has never bothered me.

There hasn't been a game or movie that I've been real impressed with in 3D. Zelda OOT made the best use I've seen so far. But I heard SF3D has the best yet.

Nothing beats "The Amazing Spiderman" ride at Islands of Adventure. But I think that's 4D.

The 3DS' extra circle pad was the topic of a current-events discussion in school?

3D never bothered me, i have never met anybody who it does bother. I am aware that it does bother some people, most likely few and far between though. Its sad that this whole hurts your eyes thing has arose, because as far as i can see the problem is actually very miniscule. I dont think they will ever be able to abolish this thing, but we can spread the word as proud owners, except pixelman, sorry bout that

I have never had problems with the 3D hurting my eyes (I play with 3D on all the time). I think it's just a matter of getting used to the 3D. All this stuff sort of reminds me of my grandma complaining that videogames bugged her eyes (on the TV).

Yes it does!
I told this kid in class that the 3D literally made blood leak from my eyes

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

For 3DS games i tried, Starfox breaks them all. The 3d there is amazing. Right after i would say zelda. Street fighter didnt really impressed me with its 3D, it wasnt all that deep. i even turned it off in the game option itself for a better frame rate. it was nice to look at, but nothing WOW.

As for 3d hurting the eyes, i must admit at first, it was a bit of a bother, i couldnt focus for too long. But after a while, you get used to it and now its totally natural to me. I dont even have to search the sweet spot anymore, and i feel i can check it with a little wider angle. not enough for gyro controls, but better.
My friend complained it was hurting his eyes, but admitted it was quite impressive. From all the people i let them check 3D stuff, half of them thought it was impressive, but a bit itchy to watch, but just for games of videos. Photos were never a bother and always had that wow effect.

The 3D has never hurt my eyes. I remember when I first got the system, the 3D mode kind of made them go WOAH for a little while, but I've never experienced any strain at all. I can play games on full 3D for several hours at a time and it's fine.

When I close my eyes, I see pixilated blood.

SuperLink

It makes my eyes fell different, not in a bad way, but I just can't explain it.

I got it: It makes my eyes feel bloated and heavy, but to a very small degree.

It only takes a day or just a few minutes for your eyes to get used to the 3D, Zelda OoT 3D took me about 6min to get used to and I dont use it in dark places.

Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need some practice.

Has there been a conclusive statement from medical professionals though? Having people say whether or not they get sore eyes doesn't really cut it.

I doubt that people will really know for another few years, as 3D hasn't been widespread enough for long enough to tell. I'd love for anyone to point me to a journal article on the matter though.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

Im not sure 3D would hurt my eyes. But I did get a nasty headache when I tryed it at the game shop. Soooo....I bought the DsiXL instead I don't need headaches period!

My husband doesn't like the 3D and says it bothers him. But it doesn't hurt my eyes at all even though I'm the one with poor eyesight who needs glasses for both distance and reading.

I am in the same boat as Pix. The 3D hurts my eyes so I do play with it off. However I get the same effect when I see movies in 3D as well at the theater so I cant say its the 3DS that hurts my eyes more like the 3D effect, if that makes sense.
