I was wondering if anyone else experienced what seem to be glitches with the pedometer. I've had the strange experience of opening my 3DS to see I'm at about 930, then after getting some more steps (far fewer than 500) finding it at 1400, but without the additional coin. What's even stranger is that every other time I opened it, it had a different number. It went from 1400 to about 460 and back again. This hasn't happened to me often, but it has occurred at least twice. Has it happened to anyone else?
Also, my brother has trouble getting any steps at all. He'll walk for ten minutes and only have around 90 steps recorded. Any ideas as to why? And no, he's not just extremely slow...

Maybe as you walk you go into a time warp? I don't know though, mine works fine. I remember seeing a similar thread to this a few weeks ago, and people said something like you said about the nbr. of steps jumping up and down though. So it nay be normal, but I have no clue about your brothers problem. Now, why did I just write so much?

I had a problem where my son's 3DS was not logging his steps at all. Turns out it was a Gyro issue and the whole unit was replaced by Nintendo (after sending it in twice). Sounds different than your issue though.
i have never had it take away steps, but randomly one day when i opened it, it said i had around 500 steps, and so 5 play coins. later i opened it and i had over 1000 steps so i should have had 10 playcoins, (i started with none). but i did not have 10 play coins, i had 300. yup 300, it decided to max me out randomly. but on the bright side i bought 150 puzzle pieces, but then didn't complete a single one.

@Some_chords That doesn't sound like a problem to me... Except for not finishing a single puzzle...
Like I said, it's only happened twice that I can remember, and it's not that big a deal, just weird. Even if it was related an internal malfunction, it wouldn't be worth sending my 3DS to Nintendo over. I was just curious as to whether it was a common issue or not.

@jtt235 All that happened was the number jumping and dropping, and the inability to get the last play coin was the only result. Not too bad a loss, but still bizarre.

It has happened to me too, I think it is just a weird random hiccup since it only happens once in a while. My pedometer seems pretty accurate otherwise so I am not too concerned about it. Any kind of sophisticated electronic device is bound to have its little "burps" now and then
My god...theres something wrong with the pedometer?! It won't be long untill the pedo attack, god help us all...
