Topic: Patching games?

I've just gotta ask. Is it possible to patch games on the 3DS? Has anybody seen or heard anything about this yet? I'm assuming that with DLC being possible we can, but I'm hoping for some confirmation
Thanks

DLC and patching are 2 different things. The firmware of the system would have to be written to check for a downloaded patch first when trying to boot from the card. This is how it works on the PSP.

So in short, it's theoretically possible, but that's not to say Nintendo have implemented it as yet.

That article mentions nothing of added code (which would be a patch) and only speculates on additional characters or costumes which could simply be data (dlc). DLC is not equal to a patch.

I know what patching is. I'm just wondering if we have a definite yes or no on it.
And yeah, that SF43D thing sounds more like DLC

When it happens we'll know fo' sho'.

EDIT: Oh, and I thought that SFIV update WAS to patch an issue with the game? I read it on Nintendo3DSBlog.

I see what you mean, I misread that. I hope it does though, in this day and age the consoles / handhelds need patching capabilities.

Sadly i can't say if it was confirmed yet or not. I don't think Nintendo will make it possible but we'll see about that.
Of course there can always be bugs like in Twilight Princess or Other M. And for these it would make an awful lot of sense.
But on the other hand i'm not so sure it would be that good of an idea since i think publishers would rely on it too much and release many games that just aren't well-rounded enough and relying on a patch later. And i don't see Nintendo testing all of these games to say "No, you're game is just not ready yet."
