Guys, the weirdest thing just happened to me. I was playing my 3DS and when I'm finish playing I put it into sleep mode (closing it) and put it on my old DS (which is also in sleep mode). Suddenly my 3DS came to life and started to play the cartridge tunes. I took a closer look and saw the entire top screen was on. When I removed my 3DS from my DS, the screen then shuts off.
What the actual hell? Did anybody noticed this before?!

It is nothing to worry about. The 3DS' and DS systems use magnets to detect when they are closed. By placing one on top of the other, the magnets from the DS fooled the 3DS into believing it was open. You can also repeat this, it won't hurt your systems.
One time, when I had my 3ds in sleep mode, I opened it. The sound started immediately, but the screen was black. It flashed once, and then was back to normal. Never had a problem since.

This is true. If you don't believe us, watch this:
And if you're still not convinced, here it is with an actual magnet:
I would not do it again though, as there is potential for it to damage the system.
