Different developers...doubt they would do that...only games they would reference here are other Paper Mario games.

Not really, the last games had references to games by different developers. Why else was there a Pianta Mafia, Shine Sprites as level up items and various other Mario Sunshine references in Thousand Year Door? They even had that cola from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga!

There might be Lumas still, and the fact that Bowser Jr. has a major role is like the Super Mario Galaxy games.

But this game has New Super Mario Bros. Wii references all over it, right down to the worlds.

...Eh, dunno about the NSMBW references, but Lumas may make an appearance.

Well yeah, of course there are NSMB references. It sells well, so Nintendo wants the people who buy it to try out Paper Mario (hence why the style of some backgrounds are similar). But it's not like it's only referencing NSMB Wii. Are the stickers NSMB like? The items? The story? The music? There's plenty of room for Mario Galaxy references in there.

other than penguin suits and propeller hats there's nothing that could be references specifically to NSMBWii. Unless you get Luigi and two Toads as party members.

...Yeah I'm not seeing NSMB references in general here...so...

Heck, the game even has Ice Bros in one level, and didn't that enemy debut in New Super Mario Bros Wii?

...More like Super Mario World...also the snow levels aren't anything new in the Paper Mario games.

oh those snowball throwing enemies that are like the Spikes from Mario 3 might be a reference? ...but I think they were in the DS NSMB so...

There has to be some references here and there, it’s a paper Mario game.
The first boss you face in Super Paper Mario had a Wii Shop channel loading sign. Also in TTYD the GBA Mailbox thingy has a couple of famous Mario music like the snow world in SMB3, title music in Super Mario World........
Also I’m curious of what role Browser Jr will have. Hopefully there will be more villains in the mix as well like TTYD and Super had.
(PS If I remember correctly Browser Jr. first made an appearance in Sunshine so 1 GameCube game reference so far)

Rawk Hawk was pretty cool, yes.

But to be honest, I don't mind who the bosses are. Intelligent Systems have never let us down here, the first game had the Koopa Bros, General Guy and Crystal King among others, the second had Rawk Hawk, Lord Crump and Cortez and Super Paper Mario had Count Bleck's minions like Dimentio, O Chunks and Mimi. I expect we'll get some pretty cool boss characters in Sticker Star too.

YES! I would love it if Rawk Hawk made a cameo! He was a really fun character.
