Tried to imagine Paper Mario: Inception Edition with the story written by Christopher Nolan. Now I am inexplicably sad that it will never exist.

Is there any proof there definitely isn't one in this game? Because I thought we didn't know what side quests would be in this title.

On another note, I'm quite curious whether the game will have its own Pit of 100 Trials this time around either, that was a familiar part of the last two games as well. Then again, the first game didn't have one, and so if this is based more on the first game, maybe this one won't either.

I want an optional boss or two in this game too. :p

Anybody have a guess at what size this game will be at? Chances are I'm downloading it...>.>

If they don't have a dojo or pit of 100 trials, then they'll still definitely have a secret boss that's harder than the final boss. That has been a tradition in all the Mario RPG games.

There was no pit, but Kent C. Koopa says hi. But I'm sure we'll get a Pit or something similar like the last two Paper Mario games.

In the original, both the Master and Kent C Koopa were optional bosses. In Thousand Year Door, it was Bonetail, and in Super Paper Mario it was Wracktail and Shadoo. So yeah, seems likely this game will have a super hard boss somewhere that's optional to fight.

The battle them has been stuck in my head, and the game is still three weeks away from releasing.

I highly recommend anyone to watch the first few minutes of Sticker Star if he or she doesn't mind little spoilers. This is going to be another funny Paper Mario game with great music!

TTYD was the best... it had great music, the best humor, and (most importantly) an awesome Yoshi and RAWK HAWK [!!!!!!]. If I'm thinking right, the only thing that might make this game worse is that it doesn't look like it has partners, save Kersti, who doesn't even battle.

Yeah, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door was a great game. My first Paper Mario game too, so it's the one I have most nostalgia/memories of.

It was/is pretty much everything a Paper Mario game should be.

I adore Paper Mario. TTYD

the train was my favorite part.

I'm hoping that paper Mario SS will be as good as TTYD. I'm not excepting it to be better though.

You know, I think someone at Nintendo higher up LOATHES Mario 3, and wants people to get full-on hype backlash against it by shoving as many references of it into every Mario game. I say this because this happened with Mario Sunshine. I seriously remember half of people's problems with Mario Power Tennis when it first came out were "STOP WITH THE SUNSHINE REFERENCES, NO ONE THINKS IT'S AS GOOD AS THE OLD GAMES, GET OVER IT NINTENDO".

Nah, they just like referencing Super Mario Bros 3 because they want to stir up hype and get fans of the NES games to buy into the newer titles.

And as for the Mario Sunshine stuff in the Gamecube era, that kind of thing happens every generation. Ever notice how all SNES spinoffs referenced Super Mario World a lot? How the Nintendo 64 games referenced Super Mario 64 a lot? How the early DS games reused a whole ton of stuff from Super Mario 64 DS, like Mario Kart DS's entire mission mode and most sprites used in New Super Mario Bros? The rule of thumb is simple; whenever a new Mario game comes out, every spinoff in that generation will reference the heck out of that new Mario game.

What I'm seriously disappointed in is the apparent lack of references to Galaxy 1 and 2 in this game. Did they forget it's existence?

Isn't the whole sticker festival/comet thing basically akin to the story in the two Mario Galaxy games? That could be counted as a Mario Galaxy reference right off the bat.

But I'm not surprised it doesn't reference them that much yet, the only real appropriate place to reference Mario Galaxy stuff is an outer space setting, and if there's one in this game, it's probably right near the end.
