What partners do you want in Paper Mario 3D?

Chain Chomp

FANTASY
Magikoopa- could be like Vivian
Spiny- Like Koops, but with better defense
Parakoopa- replacement for Goombella
Hammer Brother- that'd be tight
Blooper- try not being a boss for once
Buzzy Beetle- optional; can go into areas otherwise unaccessable (since he can walk on the ceiling)

Monty Mole! He can dig through the ground and get stuff down there!

Twomp
Jiraco (the Jellyfish)
Top Heads

. A Goomba partner that raps out the stats of enemies.
. A Wiggler (not the huge one from the trailer) that could be used to ride on/cross water.
. A Whomp that crushes foes and can activate switches.

A Blooper that says "Boop" at the end of every sentence.

I think that they have to stay with a Goomba character, because that was your first partner in both games.

I really hope that they stay away from the same species found in other games, which is sad cause I want a kick-ass Yoshi again. Both Hammer Bro. and Monty Mole would be good, but Nintendo need correct characters for the puzzles they are trying to solve.
Monty Mole however would be good to replace Vivian and Bow.

A Yoshi character would be awesome, because you could swallow foes and convert them into certain types of powerups, items, and potions- maybe even weapons. You'd need a Goomba and a small amount of poison goop from the purple ponds depicted in the screenshots to create a Poison Goomba, which you could command as a temporary party member.

A pink Lakitu.

I was also thinking about a Blooper. Like Sushie, it could be used to cross the water.

How about a Shy Guy? He might be able to do a lot of things like using a slingshot or float balloons since they're known to do that in the series. I hope they have a new Goomba character so they can contiue the tradition.

A new character. Maybe some old enemies in the past? (Doopliss, Rawk Hawk, etc.)
If not that, I would say... a Shy Guy or a Blooper.

@NG Penguin What about the ultimate bro? You could choose his weapon (Boomberang, fire/ice balls, or hammers). And basically change his powerups for what ever is on along the journey.

How about Luigi? No one wants Luigi? The first partner that came to mind for me is Luigi. I guess people are starting to forget about Luigi..... I really hope that Luigi's mansion sequel will be made.

I get the feeling the "partners" will be something like, you use something to "catch them" for the battle. I dunno, just guessing since Chain Chomp looks so...plain. xD
