Topic: Pacman and Galaga Dimensions 3D

To be honest, reviewers need to shut up about Tilt. IT'S FINE.

Hey ryan, I added you too, my friend code is in my signature. I figured it'd be cool to start filling up my Pacman/Galaga friends leaderboards lol currently I'm number 1 out of 1 players =P

But yeah, I love this game a lot! I got it as a gift and I've been playing it loads. Pacman Championship Edition looks gorgeous in 3D! The effect is a little on the subtle side, but it really is beautiful to experience. I play CE, Tilt, and the original Galaga the most. I've poured many many hours into trying to get high on the online leaderboards! Too bad I'm not very good... lol

And I'm sure those of you who complaining about the "one save file" already know by now, but in case you are unaware, you indeed can erase your save file in this game. You just hold every button on the 3DS when you boot up the game. I checked the manual and it wasn't in there, so it was just poor communication on Namco's part lol

Just thought it would be easier to sort out here; you messaged me (I assume) "Text me to play!". Since Pac-Man & Galaga is a passively-competitive online game, I figure this is in regards to playing other online titles. I haven't grabbed any other game with online play, but I'll be sure to hit you up if I see that we both have the same one in the future.

I wish I knew what to think of this game to be honest. Sure I can reason what others say is good or bad info, but out so little and already dropped $10 in price makes me think you wait another month and it'll be one of those freebies in a buy one get one sale or at $20. Seems like it could be fun but with so little there and with a fairly lame pac-man tilt n tumble game going on you just have to wonder.

Yeah that's just my general message to all of my friends =P as soon as some more competitive multiplayer games come out (Mario Kart 7, I'm looking at you lol) we should definitely play.

And @tanookisuit, an additional price drop may be imminent, it really is a solid game. If you already own Pac-Man Championship Edition and/or Galaga Legions on a XBox/PS3, or either of the classic versions, then this game may not be worth it for you at the moment. However, if you don't own any of those, you may really enjoy it. My favorite game is the Championship Edition, followed closely by Pac-Man Tilt. CE looks GREAT on the 3DS and beautifully utilizes the 3D effect. Tilt is a very fun game, as well, and offers many hours of play if you're a completionist and would want to collect all of the ghosts, fruits, pellets, and gold medals. I've clocked about 30 hours into the game, and most of that is basically in CE and Tilt; I haven't even gotten started with the Galaga content! So yeah, this is just my mini review I suppose =P Ultimately it comes down to being your decision, but I'm sure the game won't disappoint!

I don't believe the MSRP has dropped by $10 yet. Amazon and BestBuy (though I'm guessing Amazon was just matching BestBuy) just had 1 week (the first week) sales on the game for $10 off. True, the game didn't sell well in Japan the last we heard, but it definitely came out in the midst of the Japanese market being down on the 3DS. I'd assume the game dropped in price there, so maybe Namco-Bandai will see some more sales when/if sales of the 3DS go up from the price drop.

The game still has the Pac-Man name on it, and from what I remember looking at Pac-man titles for GBA and DS when they hit the used games stores, their prices don't sink as quickly as new or smaller IPs.

By all means, my score is terrible in comparison to the real PacMan pros out there. I'm just glad to have gotten in the top 10 before they pick up the game and send my score to its grave lol

Still working on clawing my way up those leaderboards. I'm doing well among friends, but nothing impressive for the worldwide boards.

It is not worth it =P The frustration that comes with trying really hard for high scores gets suicidal at times hahah and you've still got me beat by looong shots in all of the Galaga verions lol I tried so hard to get close to your 80000ish in the original Galaga, but would always end up getting stuck on the sides or in the middle between two bombs lol

I've been trying to beat my own score on Galaga, actually. I got about 1000 more points, I think, but I keep getting stuck at that 80,000 point area, that 13th stage really took me by surprise.

Any Europeans picking up this game when it launches? I'd always love more friends to compete with.

Target has it for $24.99 this week. I actually thought about it for a few minutes before deciding to wait until it gets cheaper.

Many 3DS games go on sale, but the reason I used "MSRP" is that.....well, Namco Bandai is still suggesting that retailers sell it at $39.99 as far as I can tell, by looking at various retailers selling it for $39.99 still. That $25 price is the lowest it has been yet, and that's a fantastic price. I figure while the MSRP is still $40, you won't find a better deal than $25 for a new copy from a retail chain.

I think it will be interesting to see when 3DS games out now get a drop to their MSRP since the unexpected price drop of the 3DS happened. We might see a mass MSRP cut for those games after the 2011 Winter holidays are done, though I'm sure a few will think it's a good idea to have cheaper prices to catch some less than savvy parents buying a 3DS and games for their kid(s).

Agree with Bboy. I was a first day purchase and no regrets.

Maybe an update will come for Pacman & Galaga Dimensions where they upgrade the normal Championship Edition and Galaga Legions to DX. You never know.. Otherwise, even though I own the game, I'd still grab the deluxe versions in the eShop.
