Topic: Omega Ruby is Better than Alpha Sapphire

I played Alpha Sapphire, and quite liked it, mind, but it apparently I was missing out. According to metacritic, Omega Ruby is ever-so-slightly better; rating it an 83/100, one percentage point higher than Alpha Sapphire's 82. So I want all of you out there considering buying the new pokemon game to know that, even though Alpha Sapphire is literally the same game with some aesthetics switched, even though you may prefer Kyogre or some of the other pokemon native to Alpha Sapphire, and even though metacritic is a nonsense-spewing paradox factory, you must buy Omega Ruby instead of Alpha Sapphire.

After all, if you don't you'd simply be missing out.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Oh, it's a short satirical paragraph that I put some thought into. I would think it was worth your 30 seconds...

Does Alpha Saphire use the word "Super" more than Omega Ruby?

ORAS in general is mediocre.

Don't they usually do this?

Since the versions are kept separated in metacritic and most sites don't review them both, then one version is usually scored slightly lower.

I think it's worth getting both because unlike all other games of the main series (except the original gen 3 and I think maybe gen 5), there are actually significant differences between the 2 versions rather than the typical copypaste and change a few Pokémon to make game exclusives.

Could not be further from the point of this if you tried. Just so everyone's clear, the thread is about metacritic and how dumb it is, using ORAS as an anecdote. Jeez, it's like people who read A Modest Proposal and criticize it for suggesting we eat children.

What differences? The cutscene where you ride Groudon through lava or Kyogre through the ocean?

Team Magma and Aqua have different teams, what they say, how the water heavy regions of Hoenn are affected by the harsh drought/flood, etc.

I haven't even completed the game yet so there could be even more differences, currently at the Cave of Origin but forgot to save so I'm back just before the battle with Archie in the Seafloor Cavern. It's not really a problem as I'm sure that battle and the events that follow would look stunning with the New 3DS XL super stable 3D.

No, I mean super. They spent a lot of time telling me how super Groudon was. Not only was it super itself, its super ancient. They actualy said super ancient like ancient was not old enough -.-

Not to mention the scene where you ride at Groudons neck, I think it would look better riding om Kyogre.

Meta Critic gathers reviews. Why is it somehow their fault for the number difference?

I don't know since when a one point difference in Metacritic could be considered "missing out".

I also don't know since when someone who reads random forum posts on the internet can complain of having their time wasted.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Again, satire. I'm just poking fun of their logical inconsistencies, such as listing the same game twice and ranking them differently. Not to mention the weights they put on different sites' reviews are nonsense.

Aww man, I got ripped off by Gamestop. They should tell you this kind of stuff before you buy!!!!!

It's clearly because Groudon is better than Kyogre. Team Magma works for the good of people, after all.

Exactly Omega Ruby is the game that had Team Mamga act like IGN...

Despite the satirical nature of the OP, Nah they're both horrible.

I'm just amused the TC seems to think a sarcastic thread about metacritic that managed to confuse most of the people who read it makes him the modern equivalent of Jonathan Swift.
