Topic: Ocarina of Time - Sinking Lure/Gold Scale

So I got the sinking lure as a child after setting the record. I got it legalized by the owner. Just went back after opening the Temple of Time and cannot find the sinking lure.

What happened to it?! After 7 years he can remember me, but not the lure. Help... I need the gold scale for a personal record outside of the game.

You don't need the sinking lure for the gold scale.

Edit: To answer your question, each time you leave the Fishing Hole, you have to re-find the lure.

Correct, though I've heard it makes it easier. And considering I've had the "correct" fish on my line at least five times only for pansy Link to lose it...

It might make it easier(I've never used it so I don't know) but the fish isn't too hard to get without it. It gets pretty frustrating at times, but overall it didn't take me too long even though I lost the fish a lot.

Before you find the sinking lure, you first need to find a fish of an specific lenght or superior (depends on the current time period).

I'm not sure if you need to find the fish again every time you go back in. Maybe that's the problem.

BTW, you need the gold scale to get all the heart pieces.

You need to find a 15 pound fish(when adult) and 10 pound(when child) to get the lure. It resets everytime you leave. Getting the golden scale without the lure is easier and takes less time. I believe the 15 lb. fish requirement is also the fish you have to catch to get the scale.

Yeah, you need to beat the record again in the future to be able to use the sinking lure in the future. You need to earn the sinking lure separately in each time period.
