OK..... I have another queston. How do people unlock new furniture or a mario room or new food, stuff like that?

Everyone seems to say it has to do with trainer points. Have X amount, this becomes available. But everyone seems to say the Mario karts are unlocked at around 5000 or 6000 trainer points, and I'm only at 2600. So I don't think trainer points are the real indicator.

I only have 1007 trainer points.

I came across the MarioKarts again. They're on the main path .... don't turn to the city, or seaside, or mountains - just walk straight on. It's in the same shop that sells the wind-up toys.

I think that you unlock more things in the game by:
1. More Trainer Points
2. Win Compotitions
3. Buy more things
4. Get more pets
5. Make your pets happier
Also I want to know, how do I unlock more things?

I bought up all of them, and my pets love chasing them.

1 thing I've realized is that they all use music from Mario Kart DS.

Mario - The startup sound, and what I think is Mario Circuit.
Peach - Peach Gardens (one of my favorite tracks)
Yoshi - Yoshi Falls

Also, you can take some great close up shots of your pet in first-person view mode.

(Better in 3D, by the way.)

How do you get your cat to bring you pressies? Mine never has and I've had him quite a while now. I play with him every day, and give him lots of treats.

I actually decided to get a cat the other day, just to see what the game offers for cat owners. I named it Nayru. I'd post a picture but my SD card reader is acting stupid.

I gave my cat a bath and he looked like a sheep.

I followed your advice Victoria, and went straight down the path without turning into any other routes. Sure enough, Barc came up and offered me all the Karts, which I promptly bought. I stopped what I was doing to post this, so I haven't tried it yet. I can't wait til the walk is over to try it out!

My puppy in Nintendogs + cats beat al three of the Nintendog cups and I can confirm it doesn't affect being able
to play each Nintendog cup for the money after beating them all with a single dog.

Well, me and my dog finally got ourselves trained enough to enter and win a second prize in the Junior Disc Throwing competition - for £15! At this rate I might get the Mario Karts by midsummer
I got my first two Streetpass hits in the Derby (UK) shopping centre two days ago, one a Nintendogs and Cats player, which is fun.
Both these players each had well over 50 hits each - love to know where they hang out!

@Mowzle - You're near Derby? I also was there 2 days ago. If I'd have known I would have tried to meet up with you for a Street Pass. I got a Street Pass hit at the Costco from their display unit.
