Just wanted to put up a thread discussing Nintendo Zone.
So, if you stop by Best Buy you'll get the "Nintendo Zone" channel/app (whatever you want to call it).
Right now, you can't do anything with it as it offers no content yet.
And that's IF your local Best Buy had already set it up.
What do you guys think will be distributed or would want to be distributed. It's been confirmed that movie trailers, software and DLC will be sent to your 3DS when you're in the zone, auto zone.
Would definitely want demos sent to me automatically. Heck, maybe exclusive to Nintendo Zone.
DLC? I hope we can get more levels/hats in Find Mii and more Puzzle Swap panels.
I'd hoped for this sort of thing with the eShop update, to be honest, but I don't think it can work. How does the system deal with situations where you meet people who don't have the update when you do?

I heard that they were using BT's wifi for spotpass which is pretty good because I have unlimited BT wifi and use that on my phone and its pretty easy to find BT Hotspots in most Cities and Towns. I know that McDonalds have done Nintendo things in the past and mabey they will again and I used to use the DS Download Stations in ASDA so mabey they may do something similar. At least it gives us some food for thought.

I suppose if you come across someone who doesnt have the update and you do, they wont notice the enhancements (new panels or hats wont show) and obviously it wont look any different to those that do have the update. So extra hats and puzzles could be possabilies with updates. Infact it could work really well in promoting new games (puzzles of screenshots) and events (santa hat at xmas).

what is BT and ASDA? never heared of that. (im from germany)
yeah i used the mcdonalds wifi port with my dsi a few years ago.
BT is British Telecom, its a phone provider and ASDA is a Supermarket that is owned by the American Company Wall*Mart. No doubt Nintendo will have done deals with similar companies in other countries... but McDonalds are everywhere so I would think that would work well. Do you have Nintendo Download Stations in Germany?

It basically works like the Nintendo Channel but in a store rather than through your wii. They let you download bonus items in stuff like Animal Crossing and Pokemon etc. on your DS or Demos for your DS. There arnt many places I know that have them available except for ASDA.

For those wondering: You DON'T have to have the June 6th Update to get this channel/app (unless you have a time machine, it's impossible to get the update lol). I'm assuming the Spot Pass immediately downloads it with a notice telling you of it. Of course, you need to have wireless on.
And people complain that EU get all the good stuff...
If only NoA and NoE got into some kind of friendly competition to try to one-up each other all the time, both continents would be getting tons of awesome goodies and such.

I've got a feeling that Nintendo and the majority of McDonalds locations throughout the world have agreed to provide Nintendo Zone to their customers as that would also help to being in more clientele for McDonalds as they've got 'billions and billions served'.
I remember seeing back at E3 and the 3DS special presentation earlier this year that Iwata had a special McDonalds logo on screen with a wifi icon connected it and the 3DS.
