Topic: Nintendo ripped me off -_-"

Well I have 4 3DS systems, an original midight purple 3ds, a pink 3dsxl, a seafoam green 2ds, and a new 3dsxl in black, NONE of them have this issue. Where did you buy it from? Was it new or used? Some of mine I got used, some were new and even then they are all in perf condition.

I would suggest not playing at that angle.

This is a little overdramatic, but having a forum to discuss Nintendo products could be seen as silly in a world full of starving people and humans being degraded and tortured on a daily basis. So just because you don't understand the poster's frustration it doesn't invalidate it.

For people who have clearly not researched the difference in screens I feel your opinions don't really add to the discussion. I own multiple systems and there is a HUGE clear difference. The top and bottom screens can both vary. I have found i would rather the touch screen be the lower quality screen it seems to make less of a difference. Also the quality concerns show up more when using 3d and when you are playing a dark game.

I think Nintendo uses all style screens to keep costs down and assume (as witnesses in this thread) that most people will not know or care if they do not have more than one unit.

@JohnBlackstar Very well said! I think OP is rightfully upset. It's terrible paying full price for a product that is worse than someone else that paid the same thing for the same product.

@link-the-volnutt Is it really that annoying and different to you? I hope you don't get me wrong, since I do understand your complaint about it even if I don't feel the same way in that regard. What I'm trying to say is that, even if Nintendo gave you an inferior product, is it inferior enough for you so that you aren't able to enjoy the gaming library the 3DS has? As you have said, in your case there isn't much to do, and while selling or trading it is a way of solving the problem, there's a reason why you bought it in the first place.

I'd recommend you to try to get used to it and play whatever you wanted to play that made you buy it. It's definitely hard to enjoy something after a disappointment, and if it definitely annoys you that much selling it or trading it would be for the best, but you should really try to enjoy it before doing anything. Personally, I never had as much fun with a handheld as I'm having with this one and I wouldn't recommend you passing on it immediately ( if you sell it I'm almost sure you won't buy another one because of the bitter experience). Just my opinion, sorry for not offering a better solution.

@link-the-volnutt Yes, I'm aware, but I said in my original reply if it is THAT annoying and different for you to the point of not being able to enjoy the handheld. It's annoying and different enough for you to complain about it since you noticed it, but to my understanding you haven't dedicated much time to play with the 3DS.

To answer the question: I think because they are cheaper that way since lower quality usually means less cost and most people don't notice or care about it. That would make them many things, but not a bunch of morons in my opinion.

@Kristaok As I explained on the previous page, it's not really an ''issue'' in that it's a manufacturing defect, nor does it matter whether it was a new or a used system. Nintendo uses different quality screen in their products, IPS screens and TN screens, and IPS is clearly the superior screen (I mean, it was even invented to solve all the issues TN screens had). This in itself isn't a huge issue, since an NT screen isn't really game breaking, but it does affect the screen quality. The big issue; however' is that they're not transparent about what's in the box, there's no telling whether your system has an IPS or TN screen without opening up the box.

@link-the-volnutt So again, I would advise the OP to contact the store and see if there's any warranty and maybe get a different system? If that doesn't work, try to contact Maxsoft, as they are the distributor of Nintendo products in your region.

At this point in time, you are better off selling the console. You're annoyed about it, it impacts negatively in your enjoyment of the game library, and if you insist you can't return it to the store, its kind of your last option at this point if you don't want to be "stuck with the garbage system for the rest of your life".
