Both titles were previously known as Super Mario 3DS and Mario Kart 3DS
Super Mario 3D Land will release in November 2011 in North America and Japan. Mario Kart 7 is coming one month later in December in both territories. Release months for Australia and Europe were not provided at this time.
Nintendo reaffirmed Kid Icarus: Uprising is coming this holiday season.
And still, the only game that seems interesting TO ME is Super Mario 3D Land. I just lost complete faith in Mario Kart after the disaster that was Mario Kart Wii.
super mario 3d land? goofy sounding name. and can we please stop putting "3d" in almost every 3ds title? guess what-its on the 3ds, so its in 3d. you dont have to tell us that twice.

I don't get why it's not Super Mario Land 3D. Super Mario 3D Land is just jarring, I don't understand!
Mario Kart 7 actually sounds surprisingly cool, when you think about it. I agree with @newlykate though, by now we get that it's 3D. There's no need to keep reminding us.

Because maybe some people would think it was a remake of Super Mario Land? :/ I mean, they put "3D" after OoT and Starfox 64, so it's not totally unreasonable.
The reason it's not Super Mario Land 3D is because people will think it's a sequel to the original SML or a 3D remake! Come on people, Nintendo wouldn't want to cause a miss understanding like that. I like the name Super Mario 3D Land though. Has a nice ring to it. As for Mario Kart 7. The name is a real surprise. Sure it is the 7th entry in the series, but Nintendo never just slapped a number on the Mario Kart games. I hope it gets renamed.
I actually like the name of Super Mario 3D Land. It has a nice ring to it. Super Mario Land 3D would've made it sound too much like Super Mario Land, and it doesn't look anything like Super Mario Land.
Mario Kart 7 sounded different at first, but I'm sure that It'll grow with me because it's not the first time a Mario Kart game had a number in its title. Mario Kart 64 was the first one.
But Mario Kart 64 was named 64, because it had 64 bits which was revolutionary at the time. Here it's just named 7, because it's the 7th game. (excluding the arcade Mario Karts.) Sound a bit boring.
