They need to stop playing catch up, and do something original for once. People would love to be able to play multiplayer NES,SNES,N64,GB, etc games online. It would certainly make me purchase a lot more older content. And I don't think it would be that hard to do. If they want to thrive for many more years they need a better online scheme. 3DS users should be able to send eachother messages, and content! This price drop isn't going to matter much if the system doesn't up it's features 10 fold. Nintendo has always said they make dedicated consoles, but they can't do that without great online in this day and age.
With the heavy emphasis on Spotpass, Streetpass and basically leaving your 3DS online pretty much all the time Nintendo would surely look into adding multiplayer within their classic remake and virtual console games... Mario Kart Super Curcuit would be a perfect example of this. How it could be implimented I dont know, unless the add an option via the Friend board on the 3DS to request a game.

sorry I dont think old games need online, because not a lot of people would play them online i mean SSB might be ok, Contra maybe, Mario Kart ok, I just dont see it, online games should be for NEW games, the only VC title I could see having online are Kirby Air Ride, 1080 Avalanche, MK DD, Phantasy Star Online and only because they did on the GCN

Um, how is this original? Who's playing catch-up and to what? Online is overrated anyway
