Yeah it'd be nice if they had sales on the eshop like steam, even if it was only at christmas, but I doubt we're going to see any of that unfortunately.
Just wanted to give you guys the heads up about using debit and credit cards on the eShop. I have had problems with the eShop when trying to add money via debit card. I called Nintendo, and they told me that they have had a few cases where people were getting charged on their credit/debit cards but no money is added to their eShop account. I got an error code:005-6535 everytime I tried to add money. If you get this error message, do NOT keep trying to add money as your card will get charged however many times you try and that money will be on hold. If this happens to you, call your bank and Nintendo so they can resolve the problem and put your money back on your card. Just wanted to help anyone who is dealing with this problem.

What... the... hell? eShop fails with Debit Cards.
I'll just wait until the end of the month to get eShop cards.

No. This won't happen to everyone just a few people. I just wanted to alert you guys about the problem. I don't want to discourage you from buying games with a debit/credit card.
It might be easier via credit/debit card, but I just like the little cards and I'm glad they didn't discard the card idea, especially for those who don't have access to a credit/debit card.
I just wonder if we'll get a LoZ 25th Anniversary eShop card, that would be awesome.
Seriously, what was wrong with Nintendo Points? Going into currency just feels awkward, it feels like Steam but without the special offers...
I mean, giving up Nintendo Points now... I mean, why? It was just easier using points than having to spend... £10.80 FOR SHANTAE, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Really, 800 points on DSiWare is cheaper, and you can just transfer it over to the 3DS for free.
Bring back the Nintendo Points please. D:
Actually Shantae: risky's revenge was 1200 points so the eshop pricing for isn't that bad.
@Mariofanatic128 Same here, I don't know why it would take so long to release some 16 digit numbers on the back of a piece of paper or card. Just have to wait until the end of June I suppose.
you clearly never had to work with random numbers for a promo or a secure code. this is something very complex, that requires a lot of security and time to make possible. they MUST be 100% secured so no one can steal them in shops. then you gotta manage to find a supplyer that can give you the numbers routine and can cope up with the deadlines.
be patient, this is something big to manage, much more than a mere 16digit number. use a credit card, its much easier anyway

Nintendo Points are available for £15 for 2000 points at some outlets which makes it £9 on the DSi and £10.80 on the 3DS, that gives a 20% mark up on price.

Can't wait to get a hold of those e-cards... So far I haven't seen any here in our country. T_T Oh well, I hope they'll supply soon. My wishlist's building up... Sigh~
I went to town today and looked for eshop cards in seven shops that might have them and not a single one of them had any! it was so frustrating, the shops I went to were GAME, Gamestation, HMV, John Lewis, Argos, Tesco and Asda. @Any Europeans on the site If you've found any eshop cards, where did you find them?
In Mexico we have neither Nintendo Points Card and Nintendo Eshop Card. I have been using a debit card since the dsi shop but recently it started giving the same error as mark3. Gladly that Nintendo didn't charged me for this error, but sad that I can't buy anything from the eshop until I get a credit card.

Works fine for me. I've added money to my eShop account plenty of times, and I've also never had any problems with Wii Points.
Why is Nintendo being so slow with the eShop card distribution? They weren't like this with their Wii/DSi Points cards. What makes this time any different?
I think Nintendo should just use 1 card for all their distribution services. Nintendo Points cards should include eShop support, that way they wouldn't need to have 2 separate cards.
Example: You buy a $20 Nintendo Points card. You can use that card for your eShop account, or put 2000 Points on your Wii Shop or DSi Shop accounts.
I just want them to get to Canada so I can download zelda. They have given me 3 excuses so far. First being they needed to update their machines and they would be out in July, never happened. Second that they were not cards but you would buy a code that would go on a recit, never happened we are getting cards, they corrected that later saying they would not know when they would get them. Third time they said all of the North American eshop cards went to the states, ugh I hope they actual get to Canada and that I get one because the last excuse is the most furstrating espically if it's true.
