So, on the eShop it says that you can enter in an eShop card to spend on VC, DSiWare and 3DSWare. However, I can't seem to buy any and all game specialist shops don't know what I'm on about and instead refer me to Nintendo Points Card.
Good god, finding these things is ridiculous, especially when you can supposedly buy eShop cards but no one knows what they are. Why couldn't we have just stuck with Nintendo Points?
I'm finding it rather frustrating since I don't have a credit card and I don't want to be asking my mum to top up my eShop funds every time I want to buy a new game on the service.
Anyone else got this problem? Or can tell me where I can buy some? It seems no one in the UK are stocking them... yet anyways.
Huh, I must've skipped that, thanks for that then. Kinda weird we have to wait another month to buy eShop cards though. 3DS is feeling more and more like a waiting game... everything's coming out 2-3 months later after the console. :/
@Nezumi If the card images on the Wii and 3DS are to go by, then we're getting Mario coins. I'd love to see those kind of cards though, they don't look like just cards but works of art.
No eshop cards 'till the end of June? How annoying, I was hoping to buy an eshop card tomorrow to download Super Mario land and I don't have a credit card so I can't use that method.
@Mariofanatic128 Same here, I don't know why it would take so long to release some 16 digit numbers on the back of a piece of paper or card. Just have to wait until the end of June I suppose.
Those prepaid cards will probably not have the same look as the ones coming out end of this month. I actually expect something likely as the Nintendo Point Cards are now, but then ... with coin icons.
I actually would get annoyed by such big cards for just redeeming a code on the eShop.

Bah, no wonder I couldn't find any eShop cards at Wal-Mart! Oh, well, I'm not in a hurry to download Super Mario Land. What was the deal about a thousand Best Buys having them, though?
Bestbuy.com says that some of the stores around here have them in stock. I haven't checked personally so take that with a grain of salt

That's weird that y'all are having problems with eShop cards. I walked into Gamestop the other day and picked one up no problem and it worked fine. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones and live near one of the only stores that have them o_O Maybe you guys without credit cards could just give your parents 20 dollars cash for 20 dollars off their card. That's what I used to do when I din't have access to a store and didn't have my own card.
@bboy2970 Yeah, but constantly doing that is just a pain in the arse. And my mum has "security issues," she will not use her debit/credit card on any website until she has fully checked it out and due to PSN going down and people losing their money she's even more dubious putting money on a console, understandable really.
Ah well, not in a rush at the moment to get one, but it's useful to know that you've got some money ready to spend on a game that your interested in. I don't really see why they couldn't have released them along side the release of the eShop? Doesn't really make sense that you have to wait a whole month before eShop cards become accesible.
I assume you could buy a prepaid Visa/Mastercard with $25 and use that for your 3DS. Most of those work electronically and that's what I use for Steam.
You can find these cards in staples, most drug stores, Wal-mart etc.
Seriously, what was wrong with Nintendo Points? Going into currency just feels awkward, it feels like Steam but without the special offers...
I mean, giving up Nintendo Points now... I mean, why? It was just easier using points than having to spend... £10.80 FOR SHANTAE, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Really, 800 points on DSiWare is cheaper, and you can just transfer it over to the 3DS for free.
