hey i don't know if anybody else had this happen to them but ever since the latest update my e-shop has been loading lightning fast. It doing the first loading tone with the shopping bags (not the entire song one, just the first tone) and it is ready. When im browsing the pages load immediately and i have yet to experience any lag when watching videos. Even the top screen images appear within 3 seconds tops. Maybe i have a huge surge in my internet speed or something but this is pretty crazy. It used to lag all the time on vids, go through the entire loading song at least once, and took a little bit to load the top images. So has anybody else noticed increased speed? Do you think it has to do with the update?

If this is for everyone and not just you because of your Internet connection that would kind of explain the lag on the home menu. Wouldn't it? Either way there shouldn't have to be a trade-off.

Yep. I noticed it last night. I noticed it so much I posted a similar topic to yours, so I deleted mine and wanted to throw in my 2 cents here. It is, in fact, connecting much much faster. It connects in like 3 seconds, whereas it would take up to 10-15 secs for me before.

I noticed it too. The app loads the same, but the time it takes to connect is faster. Menus load fasted within the shop, and icon and prices load faster as well.
My guess is on Nintendos end, they upgraded their servers and structure or something. Maybe they really are talking digital content seriously now.
Even though my comment will blend in with all the other "I noticed it too!" comments, the E-shop has definitely been much faster and more efficient for me as well, which is very cool since all the loading times on the shop (i.e. Pictures, game prices, etc.) used to really annoy me. Now that it's faster though, the E-shop is actually rather refreshing to use.
I also noticed this. I used to take 4 (sometimes 5) little loading songs to boot but now it does it in one everytime. Also, I feel like pages come up quiccker in the actual shop too. Good job Nintendo! Tjis might be the best firmware update they've ever issued. Now we just need Swapnote and all will be good!

My experience of the eShop is that it is now definitely a lot faster to load, and switching around screens once you're in there is faster too. And yes, having some sort of Swapnote facility for messaging would be the icing on the cake. Please, Nintendo.... Agree with everything bboy2970 says.
