I don't get why some people sit behind the consoles power as the main reason to buy it. 3DS has some great games right now so i'm happy i own one. The 3DS may be weak but it has what i want. Where as the Vita is far more powerful, but none of the games are peaking my interest. Plus if i wanted to play console level games, i would play them on a console. I don't need to carry around games designed for sit down play in my pocket. Granted if i'm at a friends house i could pull it out and play. However now my friends has no chance of playing unless he has one, which isn't likely. I will buy a Vita if it can show me some games that actually interest me, not a bunch of games riding off hype and franchise record. I want to see some originality and creativity. The 3DS has done that for me many times over. Now don't go accusing me of being fanboyish, I I will buy a Vita, if it releases something that appeals to me. I'm not going to avoid buying it or anything, just waiting patiently...

Little Deviants looks very unique. Here's a video of it:

Also, here's a video of Reality Fighters, an AR game using the Vita's cameras:

And the PSP had quite a few pick-up and play games. Patapon, LocoRoco (both made by Sony), Lumines, etc.

While, as I said earlier, I wish the Vita nothing but success, I personally have just never been able to get into most Sony IPs. Patapon had me for a little bit until I ran into a wall of having to grind endlessly, which took a lot away from the initial charm and fun. I love Jak and Daxter, but Jak II was fun for a while but got old long before the campaign was over. The Daxter PSP game managed to be a lot more fun than Jak II despite taking place in the same drab city.

LocoRoco never worked for me (don't know why; it just didn't click with me) and I found Ratchet and Clank overrated when I tried it. I also tried other IPs such as SOCOM and Syphon Filter and just couldn't get into them at all.

While I remain open-minded, both of the times I've bought a game system from Sony I've been disappointed by the games and ended up selling it with no regrets. For whatever reason, despite Nintendo's flaws their games just appeal to me a lot more.

Just seen the UK prices and... O-O for me to play Uncharted it would initially cost me £63 plus the price of the Vita itself!!!
Seems a bit steep. £18 for the cheapest (4GB) memory stick and then £45 for the game. We are being screwed in the UK over the cards as well because Sony currently has no plans to release above 16GB over here. I mean c'mon my 3DS has a 32GB card in it... and come to think of it I only plaid £18 for that through Amazon when they had some SD card deals on.
I understand you pay for quality and I am willing to pay £35 - £40 for top tier 3DS games but at least Nintendo didnt make it mandatory to us memory cards to play games like a lot of the VIta games have and also had the foresight to include a cheap n chearful memory card Gratis with the system itself.
I dont think Sony is really helping itself here in trying to sway the opinions of gamers over to buying their system over Nintendos and what could have made the biggest difference would be including a cheap smaller sized memory stick to get you started.
My launch 3DS cost £180 with a copy of SSFIV 3D included. For me to buy the vita from Amazon (wifi only) with the 4GB stick and Uncharted would be £293.

Nintendo's charm offensive is in full force at the moment and they are giving the 3DS a lot of love and I think Sony has a good product but they are a bit too complacent about it and expecting it to just sell itself. Where is your love Sony?
